Test drove a 2014 Camaro SS and might pick it up tomorrow

I leased my rav 4 ev And leaf because I don't know if the resale will shoot up or drop to the bottom. It's almost like an insurance

So...36 months and $21,500 later (assuming a $500 pmt) you're left with...nothing?

That's my problem with leasing, unless it's a work vehicle.

im not a fan of the '14 rear end... the '13 looked pretty good, not sure why they changed that.

Those lease payments seem very high. Other cars that cost more to purchase you can lease at cheaper rates. Those seem a bit out of whack.

What would be a good lease payment for a fully loaded 2SS? I've never leased a car and so I have no idea.

In the past I have gone to talk to sales people about leasing a 370z and and leasing a 5.0 Mustang, and in both cases I was told roughly 700 per month. So that's why I thought this was a good deal, but maybe I'm wrong

What is the sticker price on the car? Here in NC, there is a BMW dealer that is offering a nicely loaded BMW 3 series, roughly $45k for only $2500 down and $399 per month. I think the lease option you were given is high because of the kind of car it is. They want to get their money's worth from someone buying such a powerful sport car. People don't buy BMW's and go out racing. That's the only reason I can think the lease price is so high.

Also just adding to my question above, would it be smarter to just finance it even if I don't want to keep it more than a few years?

I really just want low payments so I would do a 6 year loan...but with a small down payment I feel like after 2 years I'll be way upside down when I go to sell.

Which way would end up costing me less when I get rid of the car after 2 or so years?

If you are set on keeping it for two years, lease or buy used. Buying would leave you behind based on depreciation.

I looked at the 2014 Camaro 2SS before I decided on the Z. It drove pretty well and I liked the look, but I just couldn't get past the visibility. I didn't think the interior was that bad, not as good as a Z, but better than a Challenger and almost as good as a Mustang. Still I bet you will enjoy the hell out of it. There is just something about good 'ole American muscle. Also, the 6.2 is a great engine, but I would find it impossible not to add some bolt-ons, which you can't do with a lease. Not sure if that is your thing though. Anyways good luck talking them down to $500 a month. Could you possibly get that if you told them you would put $4000 down instead?

You know what I meant. I actually figured it was probably made in Mexico or somewhere, but I never knew it was the Oshawa plant that made them. Learn something every day.

The camaro was designed in China, engineered in Australia, then produced in Canada. The only thing American about it s the 6.2 v8 that's dropped into it. But even assembly of that engine happens in Canada.
