Ford just keep on raising the bar more and more the newly announced Mustang shelby 1000, ill let the number speak for them selfs.

I'm sorry, but $150-$200k for a modified mustang. Give me a break.

Can't see why anyone would pay this, considering you could reach 950hp on the base platform for much less than ~$150k in modifications.

This is not really Ford's initiative. It's Shelby American taking a Mustang and building this package then selling it. And of course they have a stupid marketing team and crappy photoshopper.

The car is not getting a good reception on the Mustang forums. Aside from making fun of the photoshop, the general consensus is "go away, Shelby!"

With good reason. I believe shelby is going to take a big loss on this car.

I'd rather just spend 50-60k buying a Camaro and then getting the Trans Am conversion done. That car would turn heads like no other.

I had the pleasure of meeting Peter Brock about a year and a half ago. The presentation he gave at a local meet had some very interesting stories about Shelby, "one of the greatest snake-oil salesmen in the country" ~paraphrased.
