What would be cool is if somebody put the engine on an engine dyno and then dyno'd it in the car so you could see a just how much you lose in the drivetrain |

So is chevy working on boosting the ZR1 camaro HP before it even released?

ZL1 camaro ZR1 Vette |

Though the Camaro needs a reduction in weight more than a boost in power. |
Everything needs more power. I guess chevy has gone too far for this model year to change now, and I'm sure they read the spy info too. But everyone was thinking 600 not 650. But I wouldn't doubt if they move up plans to boost the camaro sooner as opposed to later.
|
Wonder if this now means we are only a few years away from 700 stock hp from Chevy or Ford? It's gotta stop sometime, doesn't it?
|
They have to be careful, though, because they can't have the ZL1 encroaching too far into Z06/ZR1 territory.
Ford, on the other hand, doesn't have anything above the GT500 it needs to worry about... for now. |

20-30 years from now we will all be looking back on these days and 650hp-ish will probably be the pinnacle of power for the Mustang. We aren't too far away from the EPA coming in and forcing us all into pussified hybrids. |
I feel like we are living in the golden age of gasoline-powered automotive performance. We need to take it all in and enjoy it while we can, gentlemen, because it's not going to last for long.

We will have electric motors in each wheel hub. They will act as the engine an the brakes. We will have more power transferred to the ground an options of applying power as needed at each corner. As gas engines go away we wont miss performance. In fact it's performance that will eventually drive consumers to the electric market. But if you miss the sound of a gas powered engine I'm sure someone will come up with a sound track that will give you back that sound.
|
You can always do an engine swap. Actually it would be more like an engine implant :icon17:
|
I would take a tesla roadster.

I like the route Jaguar went with th CX-75, and even better: Official: Jaguar C-X75 to be built - BBC Top Gear

Best part of an electric motor... instant torque!! Worst part of an electric motor... instant torque!

Infiniti Continues To Tease Electric Sports Car For Geneva Motor Show - WOT on Motor Trend It looks pretty sick from those pics. |
I'd drive an electric sportscar/mucslecar when they out perform a gas version and cost near the same. Maybe we can get a indy high pitched sound from the motor?
|
Yeah the pics have been floating on this site for a while it does look badazz.

its a reworking of the infiniti "essence" concept from a couple years ago
|
They tend to do that to keep include new design cues and tech
|
These kind of cars are awesome for the industry. When cars like this are actually selling, it creates a trickle-down effect that moves the entire industry forward, both OEM and aftermarket. This is what we need.
