Are you talking about the GT500 that has Shelby written on the back but made by ford SVT? Or are you talking about the mustang GT made by ford and tuned by Shebly?

Fair enough

So, I have a question. Is the GT500 interior roughly the same as the GT Premium? Better in any way?

Lemers 06-05-2012 12:56 PM

Roughly the same, but with stripes on the seat.

Ford put all the upgrades where it really counts suspension, transmission, and engine

Leather Recaros. Leather/alcantara wheel. Better gauges and some other trim bits.

Although the upgrades matter more in performance, I'm glad that it's a step up from the base cars. When you spend that kind of dough, you want more than plastics and rubber, right Corvette owners? ;)

Lemers 06-05-2012 01:09 PM

The recaros aren't standard and you can get them in the GTs now too

m4a1mustang 06-05-2012 01:14 PM

Recaro ftw.

I'm not sold on them. You loose powered adjustable seating and no option for heated.

Can I just swap seats from my Z when I trade in for the GT500?

The recaros are $1500 option on both the GT500 and mustang GT prem.

No.

And you don't need power or heat. Don't be a pansy.

The first thing my wife will say is "it's a $60k car and you don't even have power seats?"

I'll say "but it doubles the HP of my last car"

She'll say "all I hear is blah, blah, blah...the seats aren't heated either"

I guess that's ok. I mean, at least the GT Prem seats are nice.

That's when you put it to the floor and then when that is over you tell her see you don't need powered or heated seats when you are pinned to them like this. Me personally I could care a less about the powered/heated function of any seat as once I dial it in I dont need to move it. Also when vacumming out the car it takes forever for the powered seat to take its precious time to slide forward so you can vacuum under and and behind them. So see you can also tell her the GT500 is all about speed...even the seats are FAST!!! haha

Lemers 06-05-2012 03:42 PM

Or I could do the best of both worlds and get these

m4a1mustang 06-05-2012 03:43 PM

Then you give up the factory side airbags.
