Steve-- do you know if older gt500 mufflers would fit?

No, they used a different connection. You're gonna have to wait :(

$250K per year, always paid off, then wait for the invite and pay the $3K annual cardholder fee, from what I understand.

I have seen one black centurion card in person, and it felt and looked badass!

Same here, but I mentally calculate things out as I spend and can spot a discrepancy of more than $5-10 and will go back and hunt it down. I usually pay the thing off twice a month, though.

They're relatively common in the places I've lived. Heaviest credit card I've ever seen.

The only autos I ever own are the ones my wife drives. When I had an F-150 it was even MT.

Yep, I see them used here in NOVA every now and then. At the Sunday car shows when we are all in line at the Starbucks some of the guys driving the more expensive cars pay with their AMEX black.

They are on the raspy side from the ones I have heard in person. Even with the factory H pipe.

Red__Zed 09-21-2011 08:29 AM

In nova though, you get a huge jump on things if you can pay mortgage/rent on your card. Find a place that will let you make the payment on your car too, and you are well on your way....:bowrofl:

It's so crazy, when I was in high school I worked at costco, and guys would come buy like grass seed to do their own yard work, and pay with their black card...different world

Interesting Vids to watch, since Red_Zed went to such lengths to prove me wrong. Seems like it does one thing better... Going in a straight line. LOL

Maybe because you live in VA and I live in Louisiana, lol. Yes, they do have a nice heft to them. They feel as impressive as they are. Except the bastard that used his at my restaurant didn't tip a dime.

There's another fun trick if you want free airline tickets... Well, the US Mint put an end to it in July of this year, but basically you would order as many US $1 coins as you could at a time (I think it was $5,000) and the Mint would do free shipping.

Order them on your credit card.

Take delivery. Haul them to the bank. Deposit. Pay off your card. Collect airline miles.

It was riskless arbitrage. As long as you didn't incur any interest charges, you got free airline miles.

Typical of the type of people that throw those cards around.

Two best ways to drop people's jaws while paying: Amex black card, and paying for a car in cash. Literally. It's adds to the effect if you pull the bills from your crotch.

:icon18:

Is that how you got such good deals on all your cars? :p

Red__Zed 09-21-2011 10:05 AM

Actually, that's how I paid for my jeep. Straight $20 bills, tucked in the waistband of sweatpants. The work I was doing was under wraps at the time, so I had to list myself as unemployed....

So I walk in, sweatpants, t shirt, backwards hat, etc...put down no employment...then pull stacks of cash from my crotch.

Got quite the reaction :rofl2:

I would love to see a pic of that. They probably thought you were a drug dealer. and they would have been right...

Paying with actual cash requires so much paperwork though...bleh

Why is that? I thought it would be less paperwork since there's no loan involved.

GZ3 09-21-2011 10:22 AM

I switched my X pipe for Lethal Performance o/r H this morning and it cleaned up the rasp, now it just rumbles deeply(thnk god)

Cash transactions over $10,000 have to be reported.

This is why when you buy car with cash you pay in installments of $9,999. That's how my old account professor buys her cars.

Ahh makes sense. So you just get a loan for the rest of the amount and then just pay it off in $9,999 installments?

b1adesofcha0s 09-21-2011 10:36 AM

Though I paid $17k in checks for the Z and didn't see any extra paperwork.

Usually you can work out some sort of short-term (a few days) loan with the dealership and pay them back. Not sure on the exact details, but if you keep it under $10k you don't have to fill out all that paperwork.

I picked up a significant amount of low end torque when I switched from the x pipe, something like 11 ft/lbs more, i'm loving my H.
