Seriously though...you will probably pick up essentially nothing for most of the reliability trade-offs...

Wanna go faster? buy some drag radials.

Cool, looks like I'll be ok with the 7800 limit.

Thats why Im at 7800. I tend to hit the limiter more often than Id like to admit. Its borderline abusive. I would have liked 8k but my car wouldnt have. If you only plan to take it up that high on a special occasion I say go for it.

This is like the useless thread for folks who want to still talk about car stuff in general...:icon17:

Yeah, he's wondering how far off road he can drive with an 8k limit.

Rarely past 5k!?!? Holy nuts I wish I had that kinda restraint! Your gonna love the Gen 3s. And just wait till you get HFCs or test pipes whuch I prefer. Itll open up your CBE a lot. Itll sound 10x better:tup:

:happydance:

I took b1ades for a ride once.

Then afterwards we took the 5.0 for a spin. ;)

Lemers 09-20-2011 08:38 PM

They did the stopping test after they heated up the Z's brakes to cause fade.

Not that bad. Passenger side muffler came off without issue. The driver's side is a little bit more of a PITA. I had to unbolt the hanger from the car and remove it with the stock muffler, attach it to the new muffler, then get everything lined up and bolt it back in.

Might be different for you depending on what mufflers you go with.

don't think so. that's actually (from what I've seen) the best stopping time they've recorded amongst the 4 Z's they've tested.

Their test procedure does the 70-0 times before anything else, the the SQM, so they don't induce fade.

10-4. You might need to loosen the pipe connections at the factory H pipe to be able to move everything easily into place, but yeah, with the rear up on stands it's simple.

As soon as your payment for it goes through :roflpuke2:

If something were to happen to my Z, I'd probably get a 5.0 to replace it. :ugh2:

Otherwise, I'm keeping the Z till I get a GT-R.

Roger that. I think I may order the gt500s, and do another ninja install. I wonder if I'll lose my deposit if I get caught again:ugh2:

Also, I wonder how much a divorce costs?:icon17:

Insurance Rep: Please tell me what happened.
Me: I was leaving for school this morning and saw that my car was completely destroyed.
Insurance Rep: Any idea of who might have done this?
Me: Not sure, but it did smell like redneck afterwards.
Insurance Rep: That bastard struck again. Let me guess, you had a 370Z and now you're thinking about getting a 5.0?
Me: Yes, how did you know?
Insurance Rep: Fukin Steve, we're gonna catch him one of these days.

No, no paddle shifters or +/- with the auto. If you want to play manual transmission driver you need to buy an actual manual transmission. ;)
