If your idle shoots up to 2k rpm, you might be looking at a vacuum leak. If the egr ports are cloged, then you would be looking at high emissions.

If your idle shoots up to 2k rpm, you might be looking at a vacuum leak. If the egr ports are cloged, then you would be looking at high emissions. But if it is stuck open, you would notice driveability problems. If its not a vacuum leak, you may be looking at a bad idle air control motor. Good luck.
