A 370 is as faster or faster then a Caymen S. Y spend more on a car thats not faster and is very expensive to maintain.

This actually isn't true. The Cayman S has the edge on the Z in power and handling. Hell, look at all of the reported track times out there and the S is quite a bit quicker than the Z.

That said, if I already had a Z I wouldn't trade it in on a Cayman. The cars are too similar and the Cayman is just too expensive to really justify the trade.

I looked at the two cars when I was in the market for a sports car and yes, the Cayman is the better car all around. Better handling, better feel, better engine, better quality. The Z looked better, though, and was MUCH MUCH MUCH cheaper while still delivering a similar driving experience, so I went with that. I just coulnd't justify dropping 60+k on a new Cayman S when I could get a Z (which looked better to me) for under $40k brand new.

Not to mention the Z is much cheaper to maintain. It just isn't as refined as the P-car is, but obviously I was willing to deal with that for several thousand dollars less.

A Cayman probably whips a Z around most tracks, but as Steve said, I wouldn't want to pay to maintain one. yikes.

lol if I wanted to I could of gotten a cayman/boxer.

but I hate porsches. they look outdated/overpriced and too expensive to maintain.

looks like I really don't like german car brands.

I don't like BMW,audi,mercedes except for their hyper cars/porsche.

im more for japanese/british cars

aston martin , jaguar cars like the XJR and so on.

though my most favorite car brand is still lamborghini.

Can anyone with the knowledge tell me what typically the costs/fees are with regards to maintenance on a Porsche?

I'm not worried about most of these categories. The only one that concerned me is the Maintenance category. I was thinking there might be some HUGE fee (say $2,000) for maintenance about every 12,000 miles or so. The other things listed on these charts are normal day to day stuff that i dont really even worry about.

Thanks for the links.

Ten grand over 5 years. I'd say that's enough.

Their number are just randomly pulled out of the air. $12000 depreciation over 5 years with the Z...they dropped $8000 over the last 9 months alone...

Fine. You win, Porsches are all inexpensive to own and maintain. German parts are cheap.

And how often did you have to change the oil? $85 once or twice a year for an oil change to drive a BMW doesnt seem too bad.

I didnt say they were inexpensive to own and maintain. Rather what i meant was i didnt see anything unexpected in the links that were provided. Like a $2000 maintenance fee from Porsche every 12,000 miles or so or else the warranty is voided. The unexpected stuff was what i was looking for.
