don't get me wrong...the new Mustang is NOICE but I still want a Z for my next car; just waiting to see what Nissan does for their 2013 model so I'll be keeping the G for a little while longer. Like everyone else; I hope they give it more power but who knows. In the end; I like both cars a lot; just like the looks of the Z a bit more than the Mustang.

They are both awesome cars for sure. Like I was saying earlier ideally I'd have a 370Z Roadster to go along with the 'Stang. That would be a pretty nice garage. :D

Doubt it will go anywhere with Gas prices still climbing.

the Z is a pretty good look car no doubt. one of the best things about the car is that its rarer than the mustang. at least where i live.
i was about to get a Z, but i like to do a lot of engine work on my cars, and i would rather get a V8 than a Japanese v6. for modding. thats just me .

I don't think the people that buy cars like that care about gas prices all that much.

ya really. plus i bet it will come down. people do not understand that gas can not just sky rocket and stay that high. it will cause major problems world wide. and they will HAVE to lower the price at the pump......

We'll be back under $4 soon enough... but not until we peak a little bit over $5 first. :icon17:

People where I live are millionaires because of it. Ever hear of the Hanesville Shale?

Anyway, it's all EPA crap why we aren't drilling our own. What happened in the Gulf sure didn't help any.

Either you like this, and the mustang's styling, or the Z's styling, etc. is enough to overcome this for you.

At least, that's how I see it.

Hate to wake you up from your dream but in almost every instrumented testings, aka magazine tests, the Z consistently outgrips, outhandles, and outbrakes the 5.0 GT. The only thing the 5.0 GT has on the Z is straight line acceleration, that's not a surprise here considering the 5.0 GT has a large V8.

Was this a direct comparison between the two you're talking about? I haven't seen one yet, but if you can give a link to one that would be great. I think that huge power difference alone would be enough for the 5.0 to beat the Z around a track though. In tighter autoX courses it might be a different story. The 5.0 GT is currently at/near M3 (best bang for buck supercar under $100k ;)) performance level and I don't think the Z is quite there.
