Did somebody say bang for buck?

Here is an example: http://www.caranddriver.com/var/ezfl...61a7a3bb51.pdf vs. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...take_road_test The 370Z pulled .04g more and stopped from 70mph in 2 feet less. http://www.roadandtrack.com/var/ezfl...06745e8d34.pdf http://www.roadandtrack.com/var/ezfl...a75bba7421.pdf Again, VERY close outcomes. The Z handles the slalom only 1.4mph quicker, and the GT out-brakes it from 60 barely, but the Z wins from 80, barely. The GT threw down some dismal skidpad numbers here, though. In the end, the 370Z MIGHT be a LITTLE more nimble, but it's a lot less powerful. |
No doubt on the power. That's the reason the stang owns around a track.
A diff of .04 G is pretty huge though, especially given how bad the understeer in the z is from the factory-- although the undersized mustang tires do play a role. |

Bench racing FTW!
What's fun is today me and ZCarMan were parked next to each other at the local sports car club meet in the midst of Ferraris and Vipers and Corvettes and we were not talking about which was better, the 5.0 or the 370Z, or which one would pick up chicks the easiest. Nah... we were just hanging out talking cars and enjoying the weather! Drive whatever the hell makes you happy. Don't worry about what anyone else is doing. You don't have to constantly compare your car with others just to justify why you bought it. Does it put a smile on your face every time you start it up to go for a drive? That's why you bought the damn car! If you can't do that you'll NEVER be happy! |
The new GT handling is certainly close to ours, though it probably won't feel as light and nimble given the weight difference. From the actual track results were seeing im sure it still corners great.
