I'd pay under 40 for a Focus RS...as long as it's white or black....not "arrest me immediately" green

Seems like so far... Ford is going to have to put some serious incentives on the Focus RS to sell them. Like I stated before. $37k loaded seems like a fair asking price. $42k? Laughable.
Just like the mustang ecoboost. It's fully loaded it's $38,000. Another car running about $5k over it's worth. These cars are from domestic companies. The foreigners seem to give better pricing considering they put out higher luxury, rivaled performance and they actually have to deal with shipping costs and import tax. Smh.

I would say ford is killing it right now .. At least way more options than Japanese companies for enthusiasts. Nissan used to be the best bang for your buck , now it's easily ford .

That wing dude!! "Whoa!!! Wing...wing, wing wing." I cant get over it. And the interior needs to be better. 2 things that are a deal breaker.

Edit: It is a sweet ride though. i DO LOVE the looks except for those two issues.

For a few gran more one can get a chevy SS with a v8 (6.2L) engine, 6spd manual. Might not as handle as well as the RS but still good for it's size/weight. Plus it's a sleeper car, most folks will just think it's a malibu.

If you ask me? The base price of the focus RS is $37k. That's about right for the loaded car. At the end of the day. HP in these type cars is a tuneable number.
And I'd this is the new standard in pricing for hot hatches? Then Mercedes Benz, stop holding out. Because the only hatch I'd shell more than $40k for. Shyt I'd even pay $50k for is the Mercedes A45amg. Real DCT, proven AWD system, an interior that has almost no competition. A 371hp 2.0 engine with the wickedest exhaust note.

I thought benz was not going to bring the A45 over to america. Not even an option for us to consider.

If you read my OP. I said if Ford has a $42k hatch? MB shouldn't hold back and bring the A45 amg.

Just looks like a lot of lipstick on a pig to me. But then again I never understood the point of gussying up econo sh!t boxes. Why anybody would spend a dime over the base cost on a focus, caliber, neon, cobalt, mazda 3 etc makes no sense. It's still just an econo sh!t box with no historical racing lineage or cult classic predecessor. The whole point of the car was to be cheap and replaceable. At the $40k plus price point there's a lot better options, especially on the used market. C6 Z06, 996 911 turbo, cayman s/boxster, E92 M3 are just off the top of my head. They can all easily be found under $45k with manual trans and low mileage. Not to mention the domestic muscle car offerings that at least have some history or feeling to them. The focus rs/st/sv or whatever the crap letter badges they want to slap on these piles of garbage are generic, forgettable economy sedans for the masses. Nothing to see here.

True you can get the others mentioned used, but no warrenty with them either.
42 k is a bit high, but until I see what that gets I reserve judgement. Chances are that includes options I would not want

Didn't Ford win a whole bunch of rallies with a Focus?

Edit - Yep - The Focus RS WRC was in competition from 1999 to 2010, winning 44 world rallies and two manufacturers' world titles (2006 and 2007). (Per wiki)
