That was racing! I enjoyed the whole 10 minutes and the end was awesome. Looks to me like the vette got what he deserved trying to steal it at the end.

Nice post OP.

the porsche lead him into the wall.. he could have straightened out and had a drag race to the finish but he knew he would lose

well, before he "leads him into the wall" he was pushed by the corvette on purpose, making him lose traction and therefore would have obviously lost if he did a drag race to the finish.

Utilizing the pit lane was deemed legal wasn't it?

Its not cheating technically - but ... its the same as you just driving through the grass instead of running through 5 S-Turns...

Because you see what happened, the officials ruled he had to let the GT2 pass.

Lol, you guys trashing on the Vette are cracking me up...

In the end, BOTH drivers were penalized. To quote my friend who avidly follows the sport:

Quote:
Actually, both drivers are on probation, suspended, or both (can't recall) for the first two races next year.

Yes, the Vette was clearly faster. Once he got around (illegally, by using the pit out lane), he pulled quite easily on Jorg. Jorg did drive a fantastic defensive race, until the very end, though. Epic. Too bad he ruined it on the last straight.
As for the vette bumping the Porsche at the end...call it dirty all you want, but if you were the faster car constantly being cut off by an obviously slower car for quite a while, you might not give a crap twords the end, either lol. I'm pretty sure spinning him out at low speed, or making him briefly lose traction isn't nearly as bad as purposefully trying to push another car into a wall. And yes, that's exactly what he did.

not giving a crap towards the end, doesnt give him a right to cheat.

if the vette was a faster car then it should have won fair and square without having to use the pit lane or bumping into him. Like you guys always say, it was a drivers race.
