I just stumbled across this thread and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm 2 hours from Pittsburg in NE Ohio. I plan on doing doing some track events @ Pittsburg International Raceway next Spring/Summer. Looking forward to meeting some fellow Z owners.

Greg, give you a tip on PittRace. Group 1 and 2. They take the first 25 to sign up. Which runs in the morning. Group 3 is in the afternoon.

I'll always be autocrossing my cars, but I want to try out the track cross and get out on the north track to stretch my legs. Might even take my bike up there if I'm feeling exceptionally brave this summer. ![]()

The difference between riding on the street and track is on the street you never go through the same corner twice. On the track you keep going through the same corner over and over again so you can make small changes each time and actually see and fell the differences, plus the learning curve is a lot quicker. On the track you can learn to trust your bike so much faster, which it turn will make you more comfortable and give you the confidence to ride harder. Being fast on a bike is all about learning, trusting and being one with your machine. Once you trust it and have confidence in your ability and the bikes, it'll do what you want it to and you'll be comfortable doing it. It's really is the only place you can ride are hard as possible and push your own limits in a safe environment and a track day is cheaper than any ticket you'll get, especially on a bike. I'm looking forward to tracking my Z but it'll be nothing compared to riding on one. Last edited by LAVA; 03-15-2015 at 06:04 PM. |
