Finally some better colors. I want the gunmetal with the black roof. Like the spoiler on the back as well. Hope the carbon fiber diffuser from the proto is a option to add. Overall, loving it.

Kinda shocked these popped up in LA, I heard Job #1 wasn't until 01/03/22 with ordering to open up 08/15/21.
Base MSRP will be $34,999 Base gets Akebonos, Sport/Nismo gets Brembos - No more floating calipers. All cars get the 400hp Flavor of VR30 US Name = Nissan Z, no numbers this time Dry Weight = 3,252lbs Quote:

The spoiler is a nice addition for sure. I thought the steering wheel looked a bit big as well. Honestly I was hoping they'd make it more squared. Quote:

The Supra has two different engines now- 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbo- 255 hp and 295 lb-ft 3.0 liter inline six-cylinder turbo- 382 hp and 365 lb-ft I can easily see Nissan offering the Z with the same engine selection as the Q50/Q60 have- with the 300 hp and 400 hp versions of the 3.0L V6 twin turbo, but with slightly higher power levels on each. The base will not be lower than the existing 370Z's 332 hp. Expect around 340 hp for the base. The 400 hp version will probably be around 420 hp. I'm hearing 475 hp for the Nismo with all-wheel drive. Essentially a baby GT-R- when the GT-R was released in 2009, it was 480 hp with all-wheel drive (it's up to 565 hp now). |

May not necessarily be the case, when the base VR engine replaced the VQ engine in the Q50 for the 16 model year the base 300hp VR was rated with 28 less hp than its 328hp VQ predecessor.

Don’t worry, it’s not. Nissan always lists DRY weight, which is meaningless but obviously makes them look better.
Unless the z35 has some amazing new jdm tech that allows it to run with no oil, no coolant, no brake fluid, no gas, etc, that number is meaningless WET weight is what matters, the car, with full fluids. Add 100 lbs at least to that 3252 # and that’ll be where it really lands. Our old ‘13 nismo iirc had a listed DRY weight of 3300 lbs. it’s actual WET weight was just over 3400 lbs. With all the new safety tech etc that adds so much weight and the fact this is a heavily revised 370 fm platform, which itself was a revised 350z fm platform, a real weight of around 3350 lbs is very good. To go lighter you really need a bespoke chassis like caymans and 911s, or vette etc. that would make this car 10-20k more right out the gate and would kill sales. |

Does anyone else get triggered every time you see "400Z"? It does me, has Nissan themselves refered to the new Z as "400Z"? It is a Fairlady Z, or just Z for short. The conventional number designation was for North American models only. Just my opinion, it will NOT have a "400Z" badge, because it is NOT a "400Z".

like at this point is it important at all? we all call our cars a Z anyways for the most part. lets focus on more important things such as power, weight, which AT is being used, can we get it without the ugly chrome katanas on the pillars, are the gtr brembos an option or just proto hype, etc...

Maybe registers as "400Z" or "300Z" but just has a "Z" badge on the exterior? Quote:

Also, I have a feeling there will be a lot of options: -Roof, pillars, hatch, mirrors in black vs body color On the silver car the pillars, roof, hatch, and mirrors are black while on the grey car they all match the grey body color. Also the top grille of the grey car appears to be body color (it's hard to tell in the video if the silver car had a body colored grille). -4 piston Akebono or 6 piston GTR Brembo Both leaked cars had red Akebonos brakes instead of the yellow GTR Brembos we saw on the Proto -Gun metal or bronze wheels Both had gun metal wheels, Proto had bronze wheels -Interior colored stitching I noticed these cars (at least the grey one) didn't have any colored stitching on the interior and the Z proto did. -Carbon fiber exterior parts These cars had black trim parts in place of the carbon diffuser, side skirts, and bottom lip (actually the 2 leaked cars didn't have a bottom lip attachment). What if all of these things are options? And this is where I can see them making a lot of extra money as well. If we see the new Z starting anywhere from $35-39K, these options could easily bring it to low 50Ks and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a lot of Zs selling with a lot of options. And it would give Z enthusiasts the opportunity to really make their Z their own. It's probably wishful thinking, but wasn't it wishful thinking to think we'd get a new Z in the first place? The brakes, doubtful we'll get the GTR Brakes; That's probably a marketing thing to match the new/performance concept aspect of the car. a $7-8k carbon ceramic option would be insane for a sub $60k car. BRONZEEEEEEEE wheels; most likely the Launch Edition option when released, which will become a regular option the following year Interior color, doubt it. Most of the original 370z members (AK I think as well), did the Fabric marker approach, which we'll probably have to do, since the seats look the SAME as the 370z as well as the door panels, handles, and vents. Carbon Fiber...idk...Seems like a launch edition thing or a Concept thing.
