The turbos are cute. It won't be long 'till the mods come. On car and driver they talked about "a small electric motor to the valve timing to increase throttle response". So VVEL will carry on? Also I hope they wont replace the hydraulic steering with electric for the new Z.
|
So anyone have similar pics of the Merc engine? I'd really be curious if this is in fact a Nissan or Merc motor after all the rumours.

There is a Z confirmed, I posted a link couple of weeks ago on this thread that Nissan is committed to making a new z even more so than the mighty gtr. |

The muscle cars would once again play catch up... if they follow tradition like Mercedes and keep there sports cars with Hydraulic steering. I see the next Z winning awards and being the best Z since the early 70's. Nissan, do it right! But we know like with the Z34, as when I fed the troll in the "iwantanicecar/jungle Z posts... Nissan brought groundbreaking technology and firsts in the Z. Looks like we'll be seeing this trend.... PRAYING FOR EXTREMELY LOW COG.... Dry sump lubrication anyone? Please Nissan, drop it like its hot!!! 50" ride height is the magic number. |

People seem to think nissan is competing with muscle, nissan is jdm and going to compete with euro/jdm not a camaro my :twocents: |

400hp,no way. We'll see..... |
Did people just ignore the fact that the new v6tt engine is lighter than the vq37 its replacing? Seems to me that would fall in line with their goal of lighter weight for the next Z

the block is lighter. the new block with TT system is heavier by I believe 19lbs than the 3.7VQ |

429.5+39.1=468.6 for the 3.7 block for block im assuming. |

Nissan should just say something. Very very secretive.
I'll be very happy with Nissan saying something like this: "We will have a new Z35 making 400+HP. It will debut in 2017 in the INSERTNAME autoshow" |
GT-R is overrated

I do have the Silvia up & going, need to repair the headlight wiring for inspection since right now I cannot find all the wiring for the headlights so minor issue. |

Nice. Are you tuned for the compressor upgrade? |

I think over rated is kinda strong I would agree to say it's out dated. With the architecture of current vehicles in existence. The GT-R is not visually competitive anymore. ESPECIALLY for the asking price. |

Anything I post about the GT-R is solely to **** with Presto. |

You have read for subliminals with Nissan. Answers are in the IDX, grip Z, q 50, q60, Mercedes... & Renault news. You gotta just extract bits & pieces that make sense. The Z is a parts bin car when it comes to engine transmission. Usually chassis too but I think that's changing. I think by next year we will see the new Z at least in pre-production. |

I just like to know who did the work. Like knowing the history of the 428 Cobrajet. Not taking anything away from Nissan, and I'm no fanboy, I understand the globalized nature of auto manufacturing. But if something is good, I look to know who is responsible. And if there are issues you can find out by searching what the Mercedes owners are saying.
EDIT: the fact that you mention it being in the same family as the GTR proves my point, engine lineage is interesting to car lovers. |
