REST ASSURED... Unreliability in Mercedes is usually not ENGINE SOURCED. Mercedes, like most German cars have u reliability in its electronic systems. But not as bad as BMW. Audi has now surpassed Mercedes in reliability. Benz engines are solid. The merger between Nissan and Mercedes was so Mercedes can increase reliability and durability in their DCT transmission also Nissan's experience tuning the GTR Suspensions. Nissan has done that. Nissan needed better engine technology in there sports cars for more fuel efficiency and power numbers. Mercedes has done that... So even if Nissan developed the VR all by themself. It was done by learning a few things about engines from Benz first. They need us.. we need them. Cut the wack *** Nissan sub premium false pride... Be happy happy for the merger because the sharing of technology between them has made all this happen.. Don't lie to yourselves. |
All I know is, my current Z will be paid off by 2017, so I'll be ready and waiting :)
It's either that or a 4C, as it looks like Toyota nixed a boosted FR-S, so bring on the Z35!!! Seriously, how bad could it be? If it sucks that bad, I'll get a 2015 Nismo with the sexy new body kit and swap out my headers, shocks, etc. as needed :D |

Posted this in the other thread forgot to here as well Stolen talking about the pros and cons of the new engine from an aftermarket perspective. |

I bet the 300 hp one can be easily tweaked upwards quite a bit if the 400 hp version is substantially more money. I cant wait to see that bad boy dropped inside a Z35 :excited: |

FI TT on the 3.7 w/10psi boost (on 91octane) puts down rear wheel #'s equivalent to a brand new GTR @ the crank!
I'm satisfied w/what i have. |
Quote:
But a block built for boost can go much higher than the 3.7 without going boom. Also why are you only on 91 octane? Should be up on 93 lol |

Not everywhere gets 93 |

Sounds like awful places to live. |

Just going by the chart; yes I have 93 & access to unleaded ethanol free 100.Attachment 110651 Maybe a tad off on the numbers/ but you see what I'm talking about. Yes- stock bottom end is good for 15psi boost (from literature I've studied) with proper tune. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Guess I should feel privileged to have always had access to 93 now more and more places with e85

plus theres a track about 20 min away that carries 93/98/100/110 there (if i would ever need such fuels) and a good bit of stations carry e85 now around me. |

didn't mean for it to be quite so big; these are ethanol free station's.
un-sure if the higher octane one's contain lead. :) |
Glad I live in the east coast :)

That's what I thought. All of Texas shouldn't have that issue. I'm guessing Jwick moved from Houston?

Never lived anywhere else. I run 93 everyday. Was just pointing out to Presto that some places only get 91. |

There are some places in Texas that only offer 91. I've ran into it on road trips before. Southern Texas, the heart of the U.S. Gas refining, gets the good ****. |
I really hope the new engine will have similar tunability to the n54/55 motors.
|
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - we have 93 everywhere, WTF?!

idk if i want to wait for the new z to come out or go with the c7 now
