Nissan Juke Curb Weight by Years and Trims

OK, so it's between 3100-3200lbs.

That's still a 5 doors, 5 passenger AWD crossover. Stressing awd based on the components it takes to create AWD.

Now if we look at a FWD NISMO Juke it weighs about 2900lbs or slightly under. This is still a 5 passenger crossover WITH 5 doors and a raised extended chassis.

I would take the Pepsi challenge that if we chopped a fwd Juke into a 3 door car, it would weigh 400lbs less with removing the extended roof chassis, 2 doors and the whole back row.

So either way you cut it. It's light. So considering that the GRIP Z is a 2,550 lb awd concept with an auto transmission. It proves HOW SERIOUS Nissan is about weight reduction.

The Juke is still light by comparison of its competitors

Take that 2,888 lbs minus 388 lbs would be 2500 lbs, add the weight of a tt6 +180lbs. Bbk, lsd +120lbs Aero n bits 100lbs.

I guesstimate 2,900-3,000lbs.

So an AWD juke minus a couple hundred pounds for this new chassis. Turned to a z. Reinforced, big boy break kit, bigger engine, z turbos, is i the juke wishboned?, aero goodies?, yeah i still cant see the <3000 lbs on a tt z.

Also since the 350z they have been talking about bringing the z back to the 240z roots. Ill believe it when i see it!

A Subaru WRX weighs between 3275 and 3455 lbs.

The Juke is between 2,888 and 3,190lbs. It's a much bigger vehicle and lighter across the range.

Fully loaded a Juke is 85lbs lighter than an empty Subaru

So what's your point?

And they weren't putting 4 cylinder Mercedes engines in 350z's... again people looking into the past and a completely different technological era.

If you cut an suv into the size of a roadster, you dont have a great roadster. I understand your logic but im not sure its anywhere close to being that simple. I you remove material from a structure you have to add it back to keep the structure sound. May or may not be relevant here but , yeah. Im not a mechanical engineer.

Also concepts are just that. Great ideas! If you take that concept and make it the size of an exige an put in the 3.0 tt with mid engine RWD , should weigh around 1200lbs and with a quick tune be pushing 500bhp! :stirthepot:

If they produced the grip under 2600lb and be under 50k !!!! id say the hell with all other cars! Nissan grip is the only car i will ever love in my life.

I'm implying it as to creating a new platform.... without those things added with comparable structural technology. You're talking about modifying a Juke. LITERALLY. smh.

Before I jumped into the Z world I had actually thought about stripping my juke by 300-400lbs, doing full exhaust, intake/intercooler, and tune. But, I think now CAI(with hydroshield), and RS-Sport coilovers and I'm done with it. Lets say I just want to lower the center of gravity a bit.

Back on topic, I haven't invested any modes yet because I am unsure if I want to keep my base model or upgrade, or keep it and upgrade to a Z35 nismo.

Nissan need to hurry the hell up - I test drove a 2017 SS Camaro manual the other day and the torque and exhaust note was a lot of fun. I might break down and buy one (my first non-Nissan/Infiniti purchase in 22 years) if I don't get some real news fast.

Here's some good news for you... It won't be American.

The Corvette GS and Camaro ZL-1 looks good to me as well.

The BMW M2

Jaguar F-Type

Or possibly going upscale to the AMG GT-S or the 911 GT-S when it comes out?

There are options.

Doesn't really matter for me as I only tend to keep cars for 3-4 years now, so I could easily ditch it before the power train warranty is up.

Agreed. The 1LE option package for the Camaro looks nice as well, though from what I've been reading, it may be limited to 1SS models (no 2SS). The ZL1 supercharged model is coming I think early next year - 650 HP/650 tq.

If the F-Type exhaust doesn't give you wood, you might need to talk to your doctor about ED.

If this is indicative of the next Z exhaust sound. We got work to do. You can hear in the undertone there's a sick sound somewhere in there. But the aftermarket gotta get to work.
