Hopefully the Q60 might come in a little lighter. Current Q50 which is 4 inches longer, weigh in at 3,574 for base and 3,611 for premium.

Engine 1 is confirmed. They're saying 211hp right now but. Cool might be more right. I think Nissan may want to tune that up...

Is that an inline 4 Turbo? How do you know is confirmed for the next Z?

No need to speculate engines. We're getting BENZ engines with certain Nissan parts and Nissan ecu tuning.

Only the 4-banger turbo is a Merc motor. (as well as the diesel offered globally in the Q50 - that is also a Merc) The 3.0L Twin Turbo 6 has been confirmed multiple times by Infiniti reps to be a homegrown Nissan motor.

The phrase "I'll believe it when I see it" comes to mind.

My thoughts exactly.:iagree:

If the car is greater than 3300lbs it needs at least 375-400hp.

If they can get the weight down to just over 3000lbs then 330+ would suffice.

mishuko 11-10-2015 10:24 AM

and we would still want to see all the safety features, technologies, touch screens, heat warmers, power seat/windows, quieter ride and all the other things in a luxury car and still demand the weight be under 3300.

seen this before so let's reiterate...
here's a list and pick 2.

weight
power
cheap

good luck.

triso07 11-11-2015 02:24 PM

Here come the excuse generators for why a reasonable ask of a Z is apparently impossible.

triso07 11-11-2015 02:37 PM

Unfortunately the lighter portion of my comments are unlikely since the new q60 will probably weight 3500+ and more than likely the new Z will share that platform.

Link? That sounds... low. Maybe for a "baby Z"?

2016 Infiniti Q50 gets 2.0L turbo four

Here, they're speculating power output based on the fact that the rest of the world already has the 2.0T model and that's what it's rated for everywhere else.

The US model may get a bump or it may not. Nothing is official other than we're getting that motor in the Q50 for MY2016.

What IF there's really no new model coming out at all and it gets discontinued like it happened with the 300ZX?

Would that create a greater demand for the past generation Z's?
