Z wont start

Hey fellow Z owners, For whatever reason, my Z won't start today. It's not the issue with the steering lock as I have had that issue and had it resolved.

Default Z wont start

Hey fellow Z owners,

For whatever reason, my Z won't start today. It's not the issue with the steering lock as I have had that issue and had it resolved. Battery gauge is pointing at the 13-14 mark so i dont think its an issue with the battery. anybody else had the same issue? any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

Are you getting any warning lights? Does the car go to ON?

Could be a clutch/brake switch.

no warning lights whatsoever and yes, it goes to acc and On. I don't know if its because of the cold or what. usually it starts even when it is cold, just slower. what's with the clutch/brake switch?

Then it's not the steering lock and not a problem with the fob.

There is an interlock switch - brake pedal on 7AT, clutch pedal on 6MT - that can go bad and, IIRC, can cause your symptoms. You can check the switch with a voltmeter/ohmmeter. The Factory Service Manual (see link in my sig) has wiring diagrams, system descriptions, and diagnostic procedures that may help.

tried to start it just now and this time it doesnt crank as long as yesterday before it cuts off. tried calling nissan and all they suggested trying was starting with the spare key. didn't work. could this be an issue with the spark plug?

lol now your battery is dead.

i think it's your clutch switch as southarc mentioned. have your dealer take a look at it. it's a detection switch that tells the bcm that you are stepping on your clutch while firing up your 40th.
