Thanks for the TSB Dreamer! +rep

theDreamer 01-28-2010 03:58 PM

No problem guys, ask to get it so no one on here can get turned down because a dealership "claims" there is no problem or TSB.

370Zsteve 01-28-2010 04:16 PM

Thanks Dreamer! :tiphat:

I had thought that TSB's only applied to vehicles that they could replicate the problem, so it wasnt a recall of all models, just information to dealers about common issues and the fix. When I mentioned it to the dealer about a week ago I was told they would have to replicate it before they can do anything about...though that was before the TSB was released, so maybe they can do it now

StillenZ 01-28-2010 06:39 PM

ya i took mine to the dealer a week or two ago and they couldn't freakin replicate the problem. I sent them this new info and he told me that he was ordering the parts today. Sounds good to me... maybe ur's will do the same

normal 01-28-2010 06:45 PM

sounds good, it definitely wont hurt to try, thanks!

StillenZ 01-28-2010 06:47 PM

yup

theDreamer 01-28-2010 07:35 PM

A TSB is a prove it fix it, similar to how it has been but Nissan has acknowledge the problem basically. I told the guy helping me, look I am come in every week and bug you and it finally happen or we can fix it tomorrow morning. Not saying he was not going to fix it anyways, because they had the springs in stock, but it made my point.

Also, larger dealerships have probably already seen this issue so they are more likely to just accept the claim and go with it.

370zproject 01-29-2010 01:25 AM

do u just print a copy of the tsb? and take it to em ?

Z_you_Later 01-29-2010 05:34 AM

For the first time today it actually happened to me... If it happens again I will call and make a complaint.

You should not need it, but some dealerships are the "typical" dealership and try to play around. I got it for people who run into this issue and they can come back and print it off and show it to them. I would bet if you walk in and ask about it they will know what you are talking about or can look it up.

StillenZ 01-29-2010 08:12 AM

Ya, I would just be prepared and have a copy of it with me in case they try to say they don't know what you are talking about. I can see certain dealers doing that but who knows.

370zproject 01-29-2010 11:06 AM

where do i print it off?

ChrisSlicks 01-29-2010 11:12 AM

TSB Rep. Thanks Dreamer.

theDreamer 01-29-2010 11:12 AM

You can right lick on my two images above and print them, they should be letter size, if that does not work send me a PM and I can email it to you as a PDF.

thanks a bunch man ... its iced over here rite now and people say the Z is un-ice-drive-able?

vipor 01-29-2010 11:16 AM

I drove in the ice, verrrryyyy slowly. ABS and VDC kept me safe, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I live down the road from you in Little Rock. I had to go into work yesterday and I ended up putting 'her' into the middle of the hwy. See my avatar? That's from the Jeep that pulled me out. The Z struggled everywhere and with the low ground clearance and summer rated tires, she couldn't get any traction hardly at all. If there is any kind of the slope, forget it. I ended up making it to work and back, but the Z is parked in front of my neighbors; I couldn't get her up the slight slope of my street and into my driveway

So the moral of the story is, DON'T TAKE YOUR 'Z' OUT IF THERE IS ANY ICE ON THE ROAD.

Stuck Hatch Release

When I take my 370Z back for my next service, I expect them to fix it under warranty.
It happens every time I go into the trunk. I push the release, pull up slightly, then push again to get it to open. It is a bit frustrating.
With this said --- I still love the car.

i was thinkin of takeing her to work.. less ice left.... but now..... uhm... ouch ... least u made it home alright

jikhead 01-30-2010 12:36 PM

It's melting a little on my road and I managed to get it pulled up to my driveway. I didn't pull it in the driveway as I'm afraid it'll get stuck again. I'm gonna venture out for lunch and hopefully can get her cleaned off.

StillenZ 01-30-2010 02:13 PM

man.. glad to here you and her are both alright... I try to never drive in weather but had to back in december and this thing with the summer tires doesn't want to do anything in the snow or ice... thats a scary feeling... nice avatar now though

370Zsteve 01-30-2010 02:15 PM

One of the tire threads on the forum has a video that shows just how suck the summer tires are on ice. They used a Maserati as the mule, it was very informative. In short, summer tires are extremely dangerous on ice.

WShade 01-30-2010 05:46 PM

Since the TSB is out lets lock her up OP.

theDreamer 01-30-2010 05:48 PM

I will PM KDO about my post so page one can be updated and this thread can rest in peace. :D

SophiaZ 01-30-2010 05:55 PM

I also have a stuck hatch problem. I gotta push the button and lift at the same time for it to open. I think that's due to the Nismo S-Tune wing, never had a problem before the wing tho, but it's a major pain in the AZZ

kdo2milger 01-30-2010 07:53 PM

I hear ya man. They are holding a bonus we should have received this time last year for 2008 work, because they didn't think it "looked right" to pay it. BS, we earned it!!! You understand accounting? It was already accrued for and done. :shakes head:
