Forget the pennies, I placed a nickle size piece of hard rubber (childs school eraser ) in each spring cylinder and it works perfect :tup:

So instead of taking the car in for a warranty claim and wasting my time, I almost feel like it's a better deal for me just to order the correct springs and install them myself.

Somewhere in a Charleston, SC schoolroom a child goes without the ability to undo a simple mistake, all because of one man's quest to lift his hatch.

Well, you can dry the ink and probably somehow make it into something that could help your hatch. Or you could resell the ink to squid and octopii and use that money to buy new springs. Don't know if Nissan will accept payment in seashells, though. But a seashell collector could probably do the exchange for you.

Interesting, my 2003 Z had the same issue and subsequent TSB issued. Why would they make the same mistake 6 years later.
