Question 2013 Tach and Speedo Needles not Illuminated

Brand new 2013 Z touring /sport. 1 day old. Drove it home at night and all guages were lit, except the tach and speedo needles are not illuminated. Can't tell how fast I'm going or engine speed. Took it back to dealer the next day - they were scratching their heads. Said they never saw this problem before. See pic for what I mean. Anyone else have this happen?

Why would you drive it home when you knew there was something wrong with it?

Did they forget to plug in the wires for needles? I'd be pissed if that happened to me

It wasn't dark when I left dealer. It was a 2 hour drive so it got dark later. Anyway made an appointment for Monday to take it back for them to diagnose it. Just thought someone may have had this issue before and could shed some light.

Yup I assume you just bought your Z from dealership. If so, most likely is the dealer forgot to remove the fuse blocker. Sometimes they really don't know what they are doing.

This might help you.

thanks forza370z. I will check this. I'm surprised the dealer didn't know right away.

Worth checking, but this does not sound like a fuse blocker issue to me. I would say there is something wrong with the cluster itself.

Fuse blocker does have it's own other issues too. OP will have to say if he has the other problems or not

Thanks to all. It was indeed the fuse blocker ! I didn't notice the clock resetting to 1 oclock or the door chimes not working and they are working as well.
Why the heck do we pay for dealer pdi? I called the dealer and let them have a piece of my mind, prob get a free oil change out of it.
