Need Some Advice

Ok so I purchased a used 2010 370z Roadster on March 30 2012 with 6500kms

Beautiful car inside and out etc

May 22: The car is brought into the dealership (engine block needs replacing) oil consumption - engine had no oil.

Pickup Car Jun 7: New Engine - excited to drive home. They forgot to put back inside paneling but I wasn't too concerned can bring it back next day. Well I get 10km out and smoking comes from engine and into cabin, I get it towed back to Dealership.

Talk with Dealer a week later they need to order parts (camshaft from Japan) couple weeks delivery

Fast forward to today (July 26) car is still in the shop.

Just need advice on what I should do next..honestly (paid for a car for two months that i haven't had)

First of all I would want an entire new motor.. not just the cams to be replaced. and have they given you any other updates since the parts were ordered?

First, hopefully they gave you a loaner. 2 months is too long.

Second, do you all have any kind of lemon laws?

Unfortunately there's no lemon laws at all Canada wise (as far as know)

They did replace the block initially - but now the cam

I did get a Loaner the second time around..

looks like you have no choice but to wait... then sell the car if you feel uncomfortable.

since u are still under warranty have nissan/dealer give u an extended warranty free of charge, my bro's benz had tons of work done and they just gave him a 100K mile warranty...

Thats a great idea. Hopefully they are willing to do it for him.

I got a rental from Nissan when they replaced my short block. Worst car ever driven. Versa. I liked my 1975 Datsun B210 better.

10,000 miles later and I still use a lot of oil. If I need to beak in a third engine. I'll go crazy.

Which dealership... sounds like Ericksen....

Sherwood had a boo boo with my car (paint issue, old thread) and offered to give me a loaner for the duration of the repair.... a 370Z loaner, no lesser car.

Two months is excessive.

Time to play hardball. Start making noise with Nissan Canada corporate, throw in the BBB (yeah they do work), Alberta consumer and corporate affairs and call the local media "troubleshooter" to ramp it up for good measure. Global media has one, they love this sort of thing.

If they really cared they would overnight any parts. The missing panels and long repair time proves negligence on the dealers part. Don't settle for less than a new motor.

I believe, but could be wrong, that Alberta has enacted a "Lemon law". Check into it too.

Hope this starts to change soon for you, you bought the car for summer and it's half gone.

Keep us posted, we hope to see you at one of the local meets.

seriously.... dude, start looking at giving them a serious deadline before they start having to pay penalties....
