Torn between the NISMO 370Z and the 370Z Roadster!

I am so torn right now with which one I want to get!! I love the new look of the NISMO 370Z!! LOVE IT!! it looks like a porsche GT2!! but I hate the fact that it doesnt have the all the creature comforts as the touring. I would like to take it to the track but it will only be a couple of times a year, and I would like to have all the options as well as all the performance of the NISMO and the look as well!!

and I love the new Roadster as well!! I can get all the comforts there and then some (cooled seats!!), and with open air driving, but I wouldn't take that one to the track. plus I like look of the nismo better.

decisions decisions!!

I have no clue why people want the roadster...
As for the nismo, now that's different!
If I were you, I'd get myself the nismo and swap out the seats since you don't like the cloth material. Honestly, if you care about the interior and comfortability level why don't you try out a G37? Another great car.

The G37 is a reasonable compromise between the two. Good suggestion

Depending on what your priorities are, you could always acquire a 370Z with the options you want, and then purchase the NISMO aero parts later.

I don't understand these 2 choices really? One is a pretty much factory track car that you can street. Hence they pull all the extra stuff out of it reduce weight as much as possible so on and so forth all for the purpose of the Track! The ride comfort between the Nismo and the Coupe is probably a big difference too as the Nismo ride is going to be very harsh with the stiffer suspension. The Nismo is Track purpose designed!

The Roadster is for someone that takes creature comforts over performance but still loves some performance and the look of the car they love flair and flash and don't care about weight or any of those things.

This is really 2 opposite sides of the spectrum that your asking about. Many companies make track cars that are streetable these days. Just see the Top Gear episode were they Test the Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 and the Ferrari 430 (I think).

This is not a comparison of base versus sport package or base+sport versus Sport+touring. The weight difference is like 50 LBS. But the roadster is much heavier.

You can get a touring package Z and get the look of the Nismo if that's what you're after. If you do get a Nismo though, you'll quickly forget about leather and everything else.

A roadster is a totally different story though. If you want a convertible, then it should be an easy decision. Just to note, a touring/sports package equipped roadster will likely be the most expensive option.

Let's take a difference approach...have you ever owned a roadster? The reason I ask is you can always tell a first-time roadster owner as they are ones that look like lobsters after their first day of driving in the sun with a high UV index; they quickly learn when the appropriate time is to take the top down.

Is this a daily driver?

You mentioned you want creature comforts. The NISMO is not about creature comfort and will drive and be owned accordingly—much less forgiving than the roadster.

I have owned several roadsters, and I did enjoy them, but there are caveats to roadster ownership that retractable hardtops answer. The biggest issue is ragtop maintenance and most owners never take care of them properly, and to do so means extra work when you detail your Z. When ragtop replacement time comes, it is not inexpensive. There have yet to be any reviews referencing the interior noise or wind buffeting when the top is down; this is not a minor issue if noise or wind is unacceptable at certain mph (like 65-mph).

I know its a weird comparison, but its more like I am trying to decide which way I want to go with this car. on one hand I LOVE the performance features of the NISMO, I dont mind that it will be a much harsher ride. I just wanted the interior to look nicer since it is going to be a mostly daily driver (harsh weather not included)

and with the roadster, I have always wanted a convertible. never had one, but when I have driven different convertibles, I have always loved it, just not sure if I want that as a dd. and its much more luxurious inside

so I guess its more of me deciding which side of my personality to go with when deciding on these 2 great cars

looks wise for me, the NISMO beats the roadster hands down though

How much is a ragtop replacement? If some one takes a knife to it!

Wasnt the last nismo heavyer than a normal Z? I suspect this one will be too.

More structural stuff, heavier springs/stabilizer bars, etc. Same story with the NISMO 350Z, fell between the base/enthusist and the touring/Grand touring. Purpose is to stiffen the frame for better track performance. The extra HP more than compensates for the slight weight gain.
