I don't really want the kick plates and splash guard but that's what is on the car that I am looking at. I debated on whether I should get the Touring + Sports but decided against the Sport because it's going to be a daily driver and I don't really plan on doing any track runs. LSD would be nice but not critical for me. The 19" rims are cool but make the ride a bit rougher and louder. The bigger brakes won't make much of a difference for me. Plus bigger brakes + nicer tires means more cost down the road when it comes time to replace tires + brakes. SRM is nice but, again, it's not required and it's another features that would need repairing down the road.

Btw, $35k out the door? that's amazingly good for a touring + sports (or was it base + sport). I couldn't do base + sport cause as a daily driver (~60 miles/day), I need the features in the Touring.

One reason I am still looking at the sports package is because it'll help the resale value if I ever do decide to upgrade. I'm 90% leaning toward no sports and 10% for sports.

That honestly is a damn good price, touring w/o SP here is 36k, base SP is 34, I got my base model for 300 over invoice , they wouldnt budge on the others. I dont race or have a need for an overpriced navi either, the synchro rev match is a nice touch, but I heel toe like a champ, LSD is unnecessary for what I use the car for, the sport brakes really dont appeal to me, the Rays wheels are ugly as hell imo (put my 18" Motegis wrapped in Nitto Invo's on, 245x35's on front, 285x35's rear btw), plus they completely paid off my G35, basically I got a great deal on the car I wanted. What it all boils down to is get what you want and can afford, dont let anyone elses opinion of a particular pkg sway your own. Youre getting an AMAZING deal, I say go for it!

I drive a PG Touring, Manual, w/ Sport and of course it has the obligatory floor and cargo mats. You are correct in your assertion that if you are concerned with resale value, and are purchasing, then the sports pack is going to help you sell it later. Enthusiasts looking to pick up a Z will opt for a manual with a sport pack to get the wheels, brakes, aero and Syncro Rev Match (SRM).

I daily drive my Z as well, so the Touring was definately worth the extra cost above the base. You will likely not find a noticable increase in ride quality, noise or price to maintain on the sports package. Considering you are willing to pay $800 for all those other pieces, I would consider shelling out for a little more and getting a manual Touring with Sport. You (or rather you if you are like me) will be much happier in the long run. But it is your money and you are going to be better at judging whether you will kick yourself everytime you see a Z and notice it has the sport pack and you don't. You may not. I LOVE sports cars and wanted the best starting point.

More important, if you are considering the sport pack, test drive one and pay close attention to the most important addition: SRM. It may sell you on it by itself. I've only ever owned manual transmissions for my cars and was uncertain if the purist in me would take to SRM. I used to heal-toe downshift my DSMs. I don't even like the dual-clutches (tried the new Audi TT), but I leave SRM on and love it to death.

Oh, and the price, well, talk to more than one dealer. In fact, call Dealer A and ask for their best price on a Touring Manual Sport out the door (OTD). Then call Dealer B and tell them that Dealer A gave you this quote for OTD and you want to know if they will beat it and you'll pick up the car today. Then call Dealer C and do the same. Finally, call Dealer A back. Somewhere in there, you will get a below or at invoice quote. I dealt with 4 dealerships here (Houston: Baker-Jackson, Sterling McCall, Tom Peacock, Mossy) and got mine for invoice OTD the very day they hit the ground. Got the color and options I wanted too. They dealer trade, so don't let them pull that "Well, I have the car you want BS."

I hope this helps. Happy hunting.
