09 370z PG Touring 6M Price?
I'm looking to buy a 2009 370z Touring. I've been doing research online and talking to some dealers to try to get quotes.
I found a PG Touring w/ 6M at a local dealer with the following options: 370z Touring Manual - 31919 Aero Package - 498 Illuminated Kick Plate - 148 Painted Splash Gards - 165 Carpeted Floor Mats - 89 Carpeted Trunk Mat - 65 Total Invoice: 32884 They are asking: Base - 32161 Destination - 720 Sub-Total: 32881 Dealer Fee - 599 Total: 33480 TTL brings the cost to around 35,500. I offered 32900 pre-TTL (basically no Dealer Fee) but they keep insisting that they MUST charge the dealer fee and all other dealers will charge the same fee no matter where I go. I know that's not the case and I confronted them about it. They won't budge with the dealer fee. Is there anything I can do? Is my asking price too low? I would go to another dealer but I can't find any in my state with the same specs. This dealer is a big high volume dealer. Any help is appreciated. |
time to find a new dealer

Dealer Fees are negotiable.

Thanks for the info guys.
Are they quoting me a decent price? From what I've seen on the forums the cars are going for around invoice (I think. posts were a bit confusing) and the price they are quoting me is basically invoice. Any advice on how to negotiate the dealer fee? I don't mind paying some but I don't want to pay 599. |
No, because I will kick you out for not paying...lol. What are the other dealers around town charging?
|
I had my vpp price but just in case my dealer didn't accept it, i was prepared to offer $500 above invoice, but they offered it first so i was in and out real quick. :D

The other dealer I am working with has a car that is a Touring with no additional options and they are quoting right at invoice (599 doc fee was included in the price). Other quotes I've have gotten online are a bit higher and none of the other dealers have the car that I want in stock. There was one dealer that had a $500 dealer fee which is a bit nicer but not optimal.
I think maybe they don't think I'm seriously about buying the car. I'm ready to buy the car this week if we can reach a reasonable middle ground. |
Our Dealer Fee is $97.00. I love hearing what other dealers are charging. Maybe we should raise ours. It's a good deal if your getting invoice. Some people may have a lower dealer fee, but the price may end up the same if they have to ship the car in. I would see if they will budge on the Dealer Fee. But overall not a bad deal.

if it's the sports package then buy it, if not then search again

It's not the sport package according to op's post.

I'm going to try to meet them in the middle on the dealer fee (299). I just need to show them that I'm serious about buying the car. I would rather agree on a price over the phone or email but looks like I might need to go in to see them with check in hand.
Thanks for all the feedback. |
Look up your State Law on dealer fees and bring that in with you , that might help also.

That's nearly the exact car I bought, minus the Ill kick plates and splash gaurds and plus Sport Pack. So I did pay for the sport pack (awesome wheels, awesome brakes, awesome syncro-rev-match on the manual, and includes the aero), but not $800 in crap (apologies to those that find these things a must).
Get the sport pack, ditch the kick plates and splash gaurds (and aero which is included in the sport pack). I paid about $35K out the door. |
I don't really want the kick plates and splash guard but that's what is on the car that I am looking at. I debated on whether I should get the Touring + Sports but decided against the Sport because it's going to be a daily driver and I don't really plan on doing any track runs. LSD would be nice but not critical for me. The 19" rims are cool but make the ride a bit rougher and louder. The bigger brakes won't make much of a difference for me. Plus bigger brakes + nicer tires means more cost down the road when it comes time to replace tires + brakes. SRM is nice but, again, it's not required and it's another features that would need repairing down the road.
Btw, $35k out the door? that's amazingly good for a touring + sports (or was it base + sport). I couldn't do base + sport cause as a daily driver (~60 miles/day), I need the features in the Touring. One reason I am still looking at the sports package is because it'll help the resale value if I ever do decide to upgrade. I'm 90% leaning toward no sports and 10% for sports. |
That honestly is a damn good price, touring w/o SP here is 36k, base SP is 34, I got my base model for 300 over invoice , they wouldnt budge on the others. I dont race or have a need for an overpriced navi either, the synchro rev match is a nice touch, but I heel toe like a champ, LSD is unnecessary for what I use the car for, the sport brakes really dont appeal to me, the Rays wheels are ugly as hell imo (put my 18" Motegis wrapped in Nitto Invo's on, 245x35's on front, 285x35's rear btw), plus they completely paid off my G35, basically I got a great deal on the car I wanted. What it all boils down to is get what you want and can afford, dont let anyone elses opinion of a particular pkg sway your own. Youre getting an AMAZING deal, I say go for it!
