Couple a limited production capability with shortages of some paints and parts, and factor in the sales potential of the 3-year-old Z compared to more profitable and bigger-selling models in the Nissan lineup, and I don't understand why anyone is surprised that it isn't business as usual at Nissan these days.

I'll bet that the dealers are getting the runaround from Nissan too. Likely they're not giving you the straight story because they don't know the straight story.

If there are issues with ordering? Then we expect the dealership to be "HONEST" with us on the ordering of our cars. These cars are costing nearly 40k or more. We deserve the minimal common courtesy of honesty for our money.

They are/were being told orders would be fine, but now they are being cancelled or postponed. It sucks and I agree some communication is key, but even Nissan Japan is not 100% sure what is going on. Things will not be 100% until next year probably.

^^ This ^^. I don't think the dealers know. Unknown's anger is misplaced, although his frustration is certainly understandable. Tsunami's are a bitch, huh?
