Lol.... I defend both transmissions. I love manuals too. I just think the performance advantage of manuals are in cars like miatas 86's and civics.... where extracting the best power is exuded by rowing your own.

Once you're over 300HP, it's personal preference and over 600HP I think auto is smartest.

I just watched Ignition on Motor Trend on Demand and the ZL1 review. Randy did his side by side comparison of the two an the manual was faster. Now that is a pro race driver diving. I think for the masses auto is always going to be faster in late model vehicles.

Sorry, itis not public yet!

I have heard several top leve race driver say in reviewing late model sportscars is that they may be slightly fast in a manual but there is more opportunity for error when doing so and the auto want make those mistakes.

Saw this yesterday. He is obviously a Dragon Ball fan like myself ftw. I considered getting that shift knob to match my persimmon interior lmao don't flame me. But I may just end up going with a WC Lathe Works in the near future.

Nice sounding and looking car, but he needs to sort out his ride height / rubbing issues. That had me cringing all episode.

That has to do with the gearing of the 6 speed manual vs the 10 speed auto and how they match up with that track. It's the same in the standard SS Camaros with the 6 speed manual vs the 8 speed auto. On some sections of track the auto just falls on its face because its too busy shifting gears to be putting power down.

What's funny is in the Corvettes the auto is actually a little faster around the track than the manual, again because of the gearing of the 7spd manual vs the 8spd auto.

Just about every pro level racecar uses some sort of auto blip, clutchless or sequential setup on the "manual" transmission cars so it would still be a far cry from rowing through the gears in a street car. That's why GM, Porsche, BMW, etc offer auto rev match functions for their manual cars, since it's the number one thing people screw up at the track.

Lol, you are missing the point...I was simply poiting out that the highest level race car drivers can drive a manual transmission car, street or otherwise as good or better than a production model AT, dual clutch or otherwise. Most accomplished track or race car drivers would opt to turn off auto rev matching because the auto rev match system does not suit their fancy. In competitive racing your comment is more than obvious.

I guess 100hp of overestimation was the line they weren't willing to cross. 99 Was OK!

Hey fellas yes I am on here and thanks for watching the episode. In regards to dyno numbers if your on this forum you should know by now that there are Z's that are making well over what I am with proper tuning and supporting mods with the stillen SC. As for using my pics I dont mind thanks. Its a fun car to drive sorry for the late response I'm not on here often.
