It would be interesting to see what a compression test yields.

Love it! Nice work

I'm impressed the front hubs are the only real suspension work you've had to do

That's a really random repair though.

Exactly. I would have at least expected the shocks to have been replaced once or twice in that mileage.

Even more so if you could see the roads here in Alberta. Calgary isn't AS bad as Edmonton, but it's no picnic. I keep wanting to mount a GoPro to the front bumper low, pointing just at the road so people can see what it's like here.

You'd have people in Afghanistan commenting on the video like 'DAMN! You guys have SH!TTY roads there!'
wheee! and sgosh like this.

bit off topic but has anyone seen a 100k+ FI'd Z?

maybe 90st has a super block or something but it appears that this engine block is built damn well!

I need to follow up with phunk as we were both close but I know he put his car in storage & tear down mode for higher HP.
I just crossed 87k and had my supercharger put on my car at 19k miles, so coming up on 70k miles of boost on the engine.

Thank you for sharing. It's good to hear that the car is so reliable considering the mileage.

Just wondering if the oil consumption increased at higher mileage or it is about the same through out the 200k miles?

How about the transmission? Did the shifting get worse?

-ECU died after about 6 months, warranty no biggy other then the down time.

-CSC, went through the original one at about 135,000 miles. (since then I've had to do the CSC 2 more times, the first time it was done I changed to a Stillen flywheel and ACT clutch, it was too much pressure for the OE CSC so I put the OE parts in and it's been good. The dealer even covered them this time, had the master done each time as well.)

-SL went about 150,000 miles, before the recall, got reimbursed after the recall and another one put in, just so they could say it was done and I had the newest version.

-Front hubs, cant remember when for sure, but about 150,000 also.

-Fuel sending unit had to be changed a couple times also, both under warranty, not reading full.

-Fuel Prefilter dirty causing loss of RPM at about 175,000 miles, I pulled the pump unit out and cleaned it, been good since.

-Paint wise, I have a couple paint bubbles starting, as I do drive the car all year round in Canada. As well the usual stone chips, which I try and fill as soon as I notice them.

Oil changes with Redline are every 4500miles, (i'm down about a quart each change) full fluid change every 60k with Redline oils also. Plugs and drive belt (accessory belt) if you prefer done every 75k.

Try to run only Shell premium fuel also.

If you have any questions let me know, if I can think of any thing else I will add it.

Thanks and keep driving!

OK. I'm more comfortable now. I'm close to hitting 80k. Guess mine's just broken in. Thankfully the only cars that I like that could replace the Z are too expensive for me, so I'll keep it.
Thanks for the post 90. It really does boost the confidence level.
