I wonder with Nissan going with another engine (Mercedes) if we could see the Z enter into production in the US for the first time.

I edit my previous post. I meant the 4banger was the CLA sourced. not sure about the V^ what car it was in.

and yea the Q60 is the stepped down version of the Q80. basically giving the structure I would imagine to the Z and GT-R relationship. R36 will most likely go with a hybrid set-up like all the other newer supercars.

i'll find that tt 3.0l somewhere lol

With the launch of the 3.0-l V6 gasoline engine with direct injection and twin turbocharging, called M276 DELA 30, a new member has been added to the approved M276 V6 gasoline engine series, which effortlessly embodies the highest of comfort requirements, superior driving performance and efficiency. Its initial use was in the new Mercedes-Benz E 400 in spring 2013.

found it lol

The New Mercedes-Benz 3.0-l V6 DI Gasoline Engine with Twin Turbo - ATZ online

it's the E class

I read on CarBuzz that the q60 has a direct injection TT V6. Sounds like the mercedes engine. However, the q60 is still a concept, so we can't say it will have that engine 100%. It is likely that whatever engine is in the q60 will make it to the next Z. Hope for the best!

In other news, the new NSX and Ford GT make my pants wet :postwhore:

Wow, everyone has been hoping that the next Z will have a turbo v6 in it and now that looks likely. I was all prepped for disappointment but am now getting a little bit hopeful/excited. I hope it looks sexy still and loses weight though it would be bad for my bank account.

The Z if TT is going to be expensive I'd assume

triso07 01-14-2015 09:49 AM

We should start an online campaign to get some damn info out of Nissan. It's brutal that there is just radio silence.

I'm in the market and I really like the new Nismo Z but I don't want to spend the money if Nissan is bringing out a new Z soon. I'd rather wait and see what's offered.

40k starting probably, maybe 35k if we are lucky for a base level model to get people in (missing key options of course).

You will be waiting until 2017 for the new Z.
Silence is because they are probably done and trying to figure out the little details. Like will it have 2 engines, price point to offer, where to announce & when. Nissan is not stupid with the Z, they know each time they release a new one it has to be center stage for the brand only 2nd to the GTR. So if both the GTR & Z get complete overhauls for 2017 it will be a balancing act of which is 1st and when.

Can't wait till we start getting pics, that new Q60 coupe is going to be sexy based on the concept. Maybe Nissan will show Z at Detroit show next year.

Last Z was at the LA Auto Show so they might repeat that.
Detroit usually gets overshadowed by the American big 3 (look at the new NSX and how little press it is getting versus the new Ford GT), so they might reveal it in 2016 at LA.

another thread of this :eekdance:

Looks like the z35 might be in my future in 2018 (gives them some time to work out the kinks) if it looks good and gets good numbers from this engine.

Q60 (g37) concept was released with a new 3.0L V6 Twin Turbo engine made by Mercedes, this leads to the new Z sharing the same engine.
