Did you mean 280zx? In that case the main thing I'd want from that would be t-tops!! Man, that'd be an instant buy from me, having t-tops or a targa.

hahaha!!! T-Tops.... hell yeah im in for sure bro!!!! thats remember me the two MR2 that i owned back in the days :( one of them N/A and the other Turbo... both T-Tops... well back to the topic from my mental trips loool!! I mean the S30 Z something that looks almost like this...

Attachment 99562

I know is old chassis... but if Nissan did something like this... obviously modern like a few brands are already doing... im going to throw my money no matter what  I wish here in PR i can find a S30 Z but over here that car is very very rare...

Well if ford can put a turbo V6 in the new GT than a merc twin turbo V6 will be just fine for the next gen Z.

After a quick search on the interwebs:

That would be a good set up that would not raise the price by much either. :yum:

Mercedes also has a 3.5L version from what I recall. I wonder why Nissan would go with the 3.0L variation, aside from the cost, of course.

Cost & to make sure the Z & GT-R stay separated as much as possible.
If the Z is going to get the TT engine then it needs to be a lower displacements. The 3.5L is to close to the 3.8L in the GT-R, get to find out the new GT-R motor soon hopefully as it will be in their LeMans car.

Gt-r is supposed to be going hybrid so the separation is still there. If gt-r was staying tt v6, I doubt we'd see a rt v6 in tje new z.

The GT-R is staying a V6TT along with a hybrid system on top of it.
They were testing it at CoTA last week (the engine in the LeMans car). The hybird system will probably be part of the AWD giving it more power on top of the V6TT.

brucelidat 01-22-2015 02:12 PM

Yeah, didn't say it wouldn't be a v6, just saying the extra hybrid factor keeps the separation with the tt v6 Z.

I'm liking that torque figure. Nissan will always handicap the engine of the Z to distance it from the GTR.

Unless next GTR is some hybrid 700-800 hp monster. Then bring on a 400 hp Z.

Fingers crossed! I'm all for that. The Z deserves better than to be a GTR shadow

brucelidat 01-22-2015 05:56 PM

considering the current nismo gt-r has just about 600hp, I would not be surprised if the new hybrid one pushes close to 700. At the very least it will have mid 600s is still plenty more than a 400 hp Z.
