:yum: that sound fcking good now we are talking about :stirthepot:

Thanks for the info bro!!

I am disappointed. I think VQ has more potential as stock than that MB 3.0L v6. I just think u can still pull out more # out of stock TT VQ vs the new probably same price as to buy 370z and TT it than a next Z TT, not to mention if u ever going to upgrade it, maan what a deep pocket u need.

Tick64 01-14-2015 09:59 PM

They haven't released ANY info regarding price. I wouldn't stress about it yet man.

brucelidat 01-14-2015 11:00 PM

I doubt the new one will cost as much as TT-ing the existing one. That's 10k+. There's no way they're releasing the Z at 45k or so.

After a quick search on the interwebs:

Best Mercedes tuning value? A preview of the 330 horsepower Mercedes M276 DELA 30 Twin Turbo 3.0 liter V6 going into the W205/C205 C400
Here is the Mercedes-Benz answer to the BMW N55 3.0 liter turbocharged inline-6 and the Audi supercharged 3.0 TFSI V6. This new motor will be called the M276 DELA 30 and will have 3.0 liters of displacement in a V6 configuration with two turbochargers. The motor is based on the same direct injected M276 60 degree V6 architecture in the M276 naturally aspirated C350 models but with displacement reduced to 3.0 liters and compression reduced from 12.2:1 to 10.7:1.

This motor will see duty in the C400 4Matic model BenzBoost showed is coming in the next generation C205/W205 generation C-Class. An all wheel drive C-Class with a twin turbo six cylinder powerplant may end being the best tuning value in the Mercedes lineup. Not to mention Mercedes-Benz will now have a true rival for the BMW 335i and the Audi S4.

Power will be somewhere in the 330 horsepower range with torque at 354 pound-feet. High 12 second non-AMG C-Class? Low 12's or high 11's with just a tune? Sure looks realistic especially with the all wheel drive C400.

The block will have an aluminum block with forged internals and the engine will weigh 395 pounds. The turbochargers are manufactured by IHI who also supplies Audi's 4.0 TFSI turbochargers.

Check out the dynograph below to see how the M276 DELA 30 stacks up to the naturally aspirated M276 DE 35.

This is going to be a very exciting motor and a great tuning value for those who do not want to spend $100k+ for the 63 AMG M156 bi-turbos.

Rated Power 245kw @ 5250-6000rpm
Max torque 480Nm @ 1600-4000rpm
Bore x Stroke 88mm x 82.1mm
Compression ratio 10.7:1cr
Engine Weight DIN 70020GZ 179.2Kg

brucelidat 01-15-2015 01:11 AM

This is what everyone has been hoping for if it happens ( I don't want to say anything definitive and jinx it). Factory turbo'ed with 335i type tuning gains in a sexy (hopefully) Z body.

carlitos_370z 01-15-2015 05:43 AM

sounds great to me...

efuseakay 01-15-2015 02:43 PM

There will be a new TOOL album before we see a new Z.

Tick64 01-15-2015 05:25 PM

^^ Ha! I can't wait THAT long.

Even though the displacement is less there's still so much potential with FI engines. From tunes, to intercoolers, downpipes and everything in between you can achieve massive gains. All this with better fuel economy and loads more torque. The future is bright. P.S. Start saving for wider and stickier tires, you'll need 'em.

Been waiting years for a new TOOL album. Everything I've read sounds like this is the year. Instrumentals appear to be done (for the most part) and Maynard is finally working on lyrics. IT BETTER NOT SUCK :shakes head:

Magic Bus 01-16-2015 06:21 AM

What confirmation does anyone have that it's a Mercedes engine?

Jordo! 01-16-2015 06:54 AM

I had hoped for a bit more top end, but that peak torque figure, and the RPM it's achieved at, sounds mm mmm good to me :yum:

Bring on the smoking rubber death clouds, from obliterated rear tires :driving:

carlitos_370z 01-16-2015 07:56 AM

can wait to see what they are going to do!!! if the body will look like a modern 280Z im going to buy one for sure

The 335's top end isn't that high stock either but we all know they are super tuneable for big gains.

The 370 strongly resembles the 240/60/80 already?

Did you mean 280zx? In that case the main thing I'd want from that would be t-tops!! Man, that'd be an instant buy from me, having t-tops or a targa.
