Default Need some advice?!

Well let me start by saying I'm finally about to get a Z, going to a few dealerships to look around tomorrow. My question is should I get a manual if I don't know how to drive it? I mean I get the idea and "know" how to drive it but I guess knowing is different than doing it. I'm leaning towards manual because I think it would be a more fun driving experience, or should I go with the AT? Am I asking for trouble getting a manual or would you recommend it for my situation? Looking at a few dealerships they have the color options etc that I want in both Mt and At also

Also just for more information I live in a small town so no city like traffic, only 10 stop lights lol, and also would the sports package make it an easier transition to at MT for me because of the syncrorev?

Settle for an auto. Learning to drive a manual. On a brand new expensive car is not a great idea. Go with the automatic, it's excellent!

Another "should I get 6mt or 7AT" thread?! Wow, the madness never ends around here. OP, buy what you want. If you're old enough to purchase a car I'm assuming you're old enough to make decisions for yourself.

Why am I commenting? Because there is 1000 threads on this stupid topic... why make a new one every day? Talk about

Half the posts are going to say buy the 7AT, the other half is going to say 6mt. So how is that assisting him? He is a big boy, doesn't need us to decide for him.

Hey everyone, so I've been driving my 2010 370 Roadster for about 3 months now and loving it, unfortunately last night I had a major issue with the top it went back about 3/4 and stopped I had to force it down so I could drive it home safely from work. The top is now totally unresponsive and theres grease all over the roll bars, I followed all the tests in the manual and nothing worked so I had to close it manually with some help, I know at this point I have to take it to the dealer for sure but I'm pretty nervous this may cost a fortune to fix, does anyone have any idea what might have broken and what all Nissan will have to replace?

It's his first Z I would assume and maybe he's new to the forum??? Questions and topics are what keep forums running and treating a new owner like crap is not the way to go. Maybe he want to talk to actual members and not filter through old threads, you ever give that a thought?

The only reason i can think of that gets people asking whether they should buy manual or not is if they have never driven a manual before.

If you have never driven manual, you should buy a manual and learn it. You won't regret it, everybody should learn how to drive manual.

If you have learned how to drive manual and have driven that way for awhile you should know whether you want to continue to do so. Whatever other people say won't matter because you know what you like.

Most of my early cars were manual, I drive automatic now. I enjoy having my hands on the wheel and just cruising the road. YMMV.

My Z was my first manual. I drove a manual once on a u-haul and that was about 25 years ago. Then I had a motorcycle before i bought my Z but no real manual driving before. It's a year since I bought my Z and everything is fine and lots of fun.

The last time I drove a manual was maybe 7 years ago and I found it to be fun but I just had trouble starting in first lol, the manual would be my first choice but I am more just concerned about getting it home ha I know that I can learn it with time but I'm just nervous about the test drive and ride home ya know

Learn to drive a manual with an old beater car or truck first then get the manual Z. Auto's are fine too as a choice. Up to you but you will feel pretty dumb jerking and stalling your Z for a few months before you finally figure it out and may even burn your clutch up in the process. Either way is a win for you.
