The only reason i can think of that gets people asking whether they should buy manual or not is if they have never driven a manual before.
If you have never driven manual, you should buy a manual and learn it. You won't regret it, everybody should learn how to drive manual. If you have learned how to drive manual and have driven that way for awhile you should know whether you want to continue to do so. Whatever other people say won't matter because you know what you like. Most of my early cars were manual, I drive automatic now. I enjoy having my hands on the wheel and just cruising the road.
