Love the Paddle Shifters

I test drove the 7AT, the shift weren't smooth as when i shift manually, and the pedal seemed to have a pretty large deadzone compared to the manual. I knew

I test drove the 7AT, the shift weren't smooth as when i shift manually, and the pedal seemed to have a pretty large deadzone compared to the manual. I knew beforehand that id go with a manual. But i was let down anyways by the paddles. Ive always thought they were cool.

either you weren't driving a 370 or it was broken lol

or just dont know how to drive an automatic

It's the two extras resonators are part of the reason for the dead zone. The other half are the stock intake tubes & ground wiring (AT Only) to the tranmission. Improve all the above and you lose 75%of the dead spot.

While the 7AT certainly isn't hard to drive in manual mode if your In the wrong gear it will feel slow. The lag when in auto is usually the tranny shifting from 7th to say 2nd. It's definitely not a perfect design but once you get used to where the Z's power is and what gear is right for what you need it's great. Also in manual mode the shifts aren't meant to be smooth it's supposed to have quick aggressive shifts.
