It would be very easy to implement but I suspect there is a reason they didn't - just like being able to roll the windows down with the remote but not back up.

maybe it has to do with the way the windows seal when they close to keep the cabin pressurized

Please tell me again what triggers the windows to mysteriously wind up half opened?

^Press and hold the unlock button on the fob. After a few seconds the windows start rolling down until you let go of the button.

For this to happen, must you be within 30 inches of the car, or can it happen from a distance?

you might as well be because when you shut your door and the window goes up it is due to air pressure in the car. if the window didnt move down then back up when it closes the door wouldnt close because it cant displace the air

Uhhhh.....NO!

Using that logic you wouldn't be able to close the hatch with the windows up. There's plenty of volume inside the car to compress the air a bit.

If you look at the window, you'll see it goes up into a "U" shaped channel, primarily to better seal out wind noise. If the glass didn't drop a hair it would be trapped in that channel and you'd break something trying to open the door....

This feature is an easy aftermarket addition, especially with an aftermarket alarm. DEI (and I'm sure most other smaller lines) Car Alarms all have the capability of adding a 530T Window Automation Module. It not only gives you "one-touch" functionality for your windows but can be triggered to vent, roll down, or roll up your windows.

Default usage would be a button press to vent, press and hold to roll down (stop at any time to leave the windows where they are,) or arm the alarm to roll the windows up. The automatic rolling-up of the windows upon arming is the best feature IMO.

Installation requires 4 wires to be run INTO each door, so most will shy away from this, unless paying someone else to install it. I haven't looked at the doorjams in detail yet, nor inspected the wire harness boot to see if it is a plug style.

I'm sure this module could also be installed without an alarm and give you the ability to automatically roll up your windows upon arming, so long as the BCM has an isolated arm output beyond flashing the lights, the chirp, or locking the doors.

I will be ordering a DEI 2Way Remote Start car alarm within the next 4 to 6 weeks, and doing a full write-up of the installation process. ATM I'm not sure if I will install a window module, although knowing me, I probably will.

Let me tell ya a little secret. If you idiotically left your FOBgina, as so many on here call it, in the car, and you happen to press the button below the silver door handle (exterior), it won't let you lock yourself outta the car. Try it my fellow 370 drivers. My Nissan rep at Fontana Neezan demonstrated that feature.

I'm awaiting my rep points...

Sorry no rep points...I and others knew this already.

Also, the fobgina is not the fob you leave in the car, it's the place on the left and below the steering wheel where the fob can be inserted. So leaving the fobgina in the car is always required, as it's part of the car.

You know what I been wondering about, lets say I take a nap in my Z during lunch hour. And I turn off the engine and lock my doors with the FOBgina. inside the car. Can someone from outside unlock my door by pressing the button below the door handle ,since the Fobgina is in the car? And rob my *** while I'm asleep?

Can't you persuade your boss or a co-worker to assist you with an experiment?
