It really is unbelivable how unconscious some people are about others property, then have the nerve to say something like "its just a car".You dont see me hitting your mother and saying... "chill dude, it's just a mom". I know, i know, kind of strong, but was away from my Z for a few days ![]()

I dont see the damage either Minhtin. But if its not through the clear like OP says, USE YOUR PORTER CABLE! Just get some meguires 105 and a heavy cut pad finished by meguires 205 and finishing pad. I recommend watching the Junkmans videos for some in depth advice. Hes got some posts over in the detailing section that are worth checking out.

No, they haven't dropped me - at least not yet. I doubt they will since I've been with them for 15 years or so. But I do expect that my premiums will go up for the next year or two, so I'll start price shopping when I get the next bill.

How does that work? As most insurance firms want to know if you have had any incidents / claims in the last 3-5 years when attempting to get a new quote.

When you switch insurance companies they are usually interested in how many points (i.e., tickets, and accidents charged to you) you have against your driving record, and your current insurance company also looks at their payouts against your current policy (regardless of "fault"). IME, anyway.

Sorry to see your damage.
As already mentioned,it is hard to determine the actual scope of the marks. Most could be buffed out. However, cars are clear coated. Is the damaged just in the clear coat? Of course looking at options to fix if the buffing does not work,is get the area repainted.I don't think I'd go through the expense and chance of getting a exact color match. The other option I'd consider is to install a carbon fiber license plate area insert. This would cover the damaged area.Look pretty good too.I've got one on my Z.However, mine just covers the flat backing, not the sides/bottom as you need. I believe they cost 150-175 bucks.Available through many online sources. That would fix it in a flash! |

Ugh, VCuomo, I wish you luck and hope all goes well for once. I've had similar 'when it rains, it pours' incidents in the past. Nothing like that though.
As for those who can't see the damage, the three lines down below the license plate on the bottom portion of the bumper that go horizontally all the way across from right to left. That's not dirt. I won't know if it's through the clear coat until I get the time to try buffing it out. I can't feel anything, but, Nissan isn't exactly known for having quality paint or a large helping of clear coat, so.. we'll see. |

![]() ![]() In all seriousness, it bugged me all week. Couldn't ever get time away from the family to wash her. The Z is my DD, so I had just finished driving 1600 miles round trip. It also rained almost 90% of the time I was in Memphis and northwest Alabama. Thankfully she is now clean, although it does look like Austin is going to get rain today. Just hopefully during the day and not tonight while I am at work! Here are better pictures as requested. The more I look at it the more it looks like a shopping cart, but I can't for the life of me figure out how it would do that unless someone literally drug it all the way across the back. Going to try and polish it out this weekend. If luck is not on my side I'll just have the whole bumper resprayed. That should cost about the same as my insurance deductible. I'm not sure I'd report it unless it was grossly more than that. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Those should buff out i wouldn't sweat it.
My outlook, I don't worry about the things I can't control. I have had my car keyed by jealous ex wanna be boyfriends (the girl paid for it to get fixed). I have been bumped in the back. Light tap some damage, but you have to look to see it, oh well carry on no need to get insurance involved. I bought a new bumper already, just waiting for more damage to make it worth the work of replacing. As to VCuomo's story...ughh must have been a real drag and waste of time. I would have laughed when faced with laughing or raising hell; better for the heart. These are cars and in the end I care not, as long as I have my health. I was actually cut off the other day by a careless driver. I was so angry so I cut him off. Then i realized what kind of a douche bag I was being, pulled up next to them at light and apologized. He apologized too. |
