What I read on the Gen Coupe is that it will be dead in 2 years. And in 2 years, it will have a replacement.
|
I read that as well. Hyundai is supposedly considering to replace it with a sport sedan M3 fighter.

408 just sound right for a "modern" factory 3.0L turbo and in IMO what the platform needs to compete in the horsepower wars. (It is also about what the 3.0L TT 2015 Porsche Panamera S has). With the weight savings and up 58 HP from the Nizmo you would have quite the beast. |
originally when all the talk about nissan ditching the V6 for a 4 banger i wrote off ever getting another Z.
now with the rumors of a turbo V6 and possible targa top my interest has peaked more than i could have imagined. if nissan comes through with a 400hp turbo 6cyl and a targa top i will be first in line lol the big ticket would still be the turbo engine. look at all the 370's that go boost and have nothing but trouble. NA motors just arent meant to be boosted sometimes lol now you take a turbo stock engine and you can play :) |
this has more to do with the iDX, but it does mention a tidbit about the iDX being built on the next gen Z chassis which is extremely good news for the weight part of the equation since they have said the iDX is going to be under 2700lbs or somewhere close....... No matter what a smart man should have 3 to 4 years to wait before purchasing the new Z. We still don't know when it's going to come out and even once it does only a fool would buy it in the first 2 years of being out. Way I see it, a 50th year sounds just right

I assume the 4 cylinder turbo option will happen and a naturally aspirated v6 will be the premium.
The other thing is develop your own engine Nissan please don't put an engine from an unreliable car maker. It is the heart ad soul of the car.... i can hear it now..so you drive a Nissan with Benz motor. How about we put a little money forward like you did on the gtr which was a huge risk and create either a beastly 4 cylinder turbo motor or in line 6 turbo motor and make all Z owners happy to buy one. This is my vent to Nissan if they are listening... lol |
