Morning everyone,

Not what I would expect from members on a Monday

Im going to PLEASE ask that WE all dial back the personal attacks, and move the discussion to the topic of this thread.

Im going to cleap-up the past two pages so its where it should be.

IF you guys are just going to argue? Please use the ignore list.

If the idea was to just derail things because we're bored? I don't think so, and you may need to find somewhere else to troll.

This is the only reminder to all once again to "Please Keep it on Topic"

Thanks.

I honestly haven't given much thought to anything past 2015

Seriously, I saw a big bodied Audi (I think it was an A8) keep up with a GT-R yesterday on the street. The GT-R was barely pulling ahead. Are those heavy *** Audis really that fast? Must be AWD and 450+ hp FI'd for it to keep up with an 11-sec car. Anyways, I was impressed...But both drivers should've been caught by the cops. I don't condone reckless driving for the sake of egos. Someone could've been hurt.

Oh yeah, back on topic. Autoweek stated that sources from Nissan say that the next Z will be an "internationally" marketed car. The Z was a Japan and North American market car, until now. Hence, a 2.0 4-cyl turbo and a 6-cyl hybrid are definitely in the works. The GT-R is Nissan's halo car as the Z steps out of the limelight. Better look at Corvette, Mustang, Camaro if you want raw "throw me back in the seat" torque with 12 sec 1/4's all day long. Or if you can afford it, go the Cayman/991 (3.4) route with 320 hp, mid engine, and high 12s via superior German engineering. The Z will lower its status as a "FR-S, Mustang V6/4-cyl-turbo, Miata" competitor....Nissan has dropped the baton. I will not look forward to the next Z.

I really hope this isn't the case.

I believe someone had quoted that same report from Autoweek earlier in the thread. The problem is that there are already a couple of other sources that have stated similar information, but with different specs, so we already have conflicting reports. The speculation it seems is running wild, and every car rag that even bothers to mention the Z seems to have their own take on what it will be. I guess at this point we are pretty much stuck with the same old info until Nissan finally opens up. Here's to hoping that what Autoweek is predicting proves to be false.

A turbo four mated to a hybrid drive would out perform the z34, and the 3.0 turbo with a hybrid setup could be 400+ hp easily. I'm pretty sure that instant torque from the potential hybrid system in these cars will provide plenty of the throw you back in your seat feeling your looking for.

there's no way the Z will have a bigger engine than the gt-r so a v8 isn't happening

I wouldn't want a v8 Z, especially the vk, that make it more front heavy. I'd rather see a smaller displacement twin turbo v6.

An aluminum block V8 would likely be lighter than a 6 once you add in the turbos and plumbing.

Yeah, the VQ isn't a lightweight. Going by the rumors, it doesn't seem like the next Z will have one. I would love an all new aluminum 3.0TT. Just my preference, but I'd rather a factory turbo than an NA v8. Oh how I dream

For the people complaining about waiting, I waited for 2 years on stupid little updates and rumors for the Mustang. Part of the reason I bought the Z was how long it was taking to get any real info from Ford. And then they made it a fatass car, so it all worked out owning the Z.
