Really? That's news to me, although, body styling aside, I know the current model isn't mechanically different from the last model.

Are there official specs for the actual Q60? That might reveal the most info about the next Z.

On a related note anyone seen this?

http://www.gencoupe.com/general-disc...s-coupe-3.html

That sure reminds me of the Esflow concept.

And... If Hyundai confirmed that 3.3 turbo? We definitely need that 3.0TT.

i didn't know the 2.0T weighed more than the Z! but yes, weight reduction should be a priority in the development of the Z35

I know for the new Supra they will be using the BMW carbon fiber chassis to reduce weight it's too bad Nissan couldn't get on this boat and do this for the Z along with the carbon fiber drive shaft

Not quite just weight savings...

Yes,they still have cast iron parts in that suspension and they can easily reduce weight by swapping to aluminum There are no carbon fiber parts added on a Genesis Coupe. so that is another option.
Hyundai also needs to learn how to tune ECU's for true sport performance & needs to source beefier transmissions for hard work at the limits.. Genesis coupes are fast but they don't feel like a sports car fast, they feel Altima 3.5SR fast. which is sporty but not sports car sporty. the Genesis Coupe is a good platform but needs a lot of refinement in terms of true sports car nature.
The Z may be "rough and tumble" but it drives like a proper sports car from every aspect. We'll see what the next gencoupe brings.

They should really put the 5.0L in the Coupe.

Just today i pass an altima 3.5ser, just going around a slower car and all of a sudden he guns it with his 3 or 4 passengers and paases me looking over at me. Its those altima race car commercials, every altima even the 2.5 are now faster than the z even loaded down.

The world is dumb!

this makes zero sense. obviously he will pass you if he guns it and you dont. BUT the altima is not faster than a Z loaded down or not.

put your right foot down hard and come back to report the results.

Not necessarily. Altimas (6mt) are just as quick as a 350z (non hr) especially an 07+ Altima (revised 2nd gen vq35de with a much better top end). I agree, against a 370z it cannot hang, but with a few mods they move. Don't under estimate them, especially a 6spd version. I used to have an 08 3.5se and miss that car.

I had a 3.5, they are very fast for what they are but, that cvt has mushy faux gear changes and you can't do a tight 90degree turn at high velocity. The suspension is 350z firm and stable at high speeds. A great straight liner. But it's far from a Z. This is my issue right here. We would all like the Z to increase in performance, but I don't want it to become an American style muscle car to do it. There is no na/v6 outperforming the Z. Be proud of that. When the Z goes turbo, and you read the stats, yall will go fanboy again.

I agree with everything you said, the 370 is head and shoulders a better sports car than the 3.8. I dont even consider the 3.8 Coupe a Sports car, its a GT, and a fantastic, uber comfortable one at that for an unbelievable price. Something the Z did NOT give me for quite a bit more $.
