Go for it  would look nice with the red stripe on the wheel I think. Nothing ricey about that.

Masterbeatty 10-05-2014 02:51 PM

Washed the Z today and took the wheels off to clean the inside lips. Holy phuck was there a lot of road grime and tar buildup crap.

ZeNato 10-05-2014 03:02 PM

painted my CF fenders... maybe its just my gun but it was really orange-peely. Tomorrow I'll be sanding and installing!

So much Z driving the last two weeks.

Washed Harry on Thursday. Wax on friday. Cars and coffee on saturday. Drove to lunch today. Wash again. Under cover safe and sound waiting on a final sunshiney day to drive.

I love Harry. :driving:

Not sure if the dude in the Charger wanted me to race him or if he was trying to say nice car. He passed me on the left and his hit his brakes in some weird patterns. I don't understand tailight Morse code.

Haboob 10-05-2014 10:58 PM

Had the car wash place I usually go to for hand washes buff out the clear bra and most of the marks from the debris are gone.

It's difficult to see the remaining marks, but a little easier to see the slight dent in the hood.

The car and wheels look so good clean... it's been so long since they have been. :icon17:

I don't know if there are any "codes" for brake lights. I know there are for headlights:

Usually one flash of headlights means to turn your lights on or your brights off.

Multiple flashes means 5-0 ahead, slow down.

As for tails, if I see them tapping frantically, then that means to slow down RADAR/5-0 ahead (which is what I do). Or they're just retarded as ****. :icon17:

I defaulted to thinking they were just retarded. Just trying to make a joke about it.

i saw a cop setting himself up for a trap...backing into his hiding place and all...
then shot me with radar  doing exactly the speed limit. im like i frikken saw you the whole time you were backing into your spot. :ugh:

not that i was speeding anyway.

JARblue 10-06-2014 09:23 AM

Axle click has reared its head in my Z after nearly 60K miles. Trying to decide whether to hassle with the dealer to see if they'll take care of it for free or go ahead with juld0zer's DIY.

kenchan 10-06-2014 09:29 AM

thought the axle click was just torquing up the hub nut to 110ft/lbs or something on the driver side?
i think the true way is to pack it with grease or something.. havent looked into it since ive not had this issue. :ugh:

JARblue 10-06-2014 09:32 AM

Neither one of those seems to be a permanent fix though. The DIY replaces the axle nut completely. However, the grease might be the best way since mine lasted over 55K miles before it started. Anyone have a link to the TSB that refers to this? I can't seem to find it.

kenchan 10-06-2014 09:39 AM

if you can't find it here, i think check the 350z/G35c sites as well. GL, mr.jar

Sometimes stupid cops work to your advantage. Sometimes they don't.

But I do love when a person's stupidity provides free entertainment, which is what you ran into :happydance:

My research indicates there is a TSB for the 350Z but not the 370Z...

Yup... dealer said they would regrease for no charge within 3yr/36Kmi. Yet another issue that should be covered under the powertrain, but Nissan refuses.

I will be replacing the axle nut with a Kawasaki part per this DIY: http://www.the370z.com/engine-drivet...unk-noise.html

JARblue 10-06-2014 11:28 AM

Ordered Kawasaki axle nuts this morning for my 370Z :ugh2:

Good news! My parts are scheduled to arrive soon. Hopefully by end of week or early next week parts will be at my doorsteps.

Fast, easy, and bunga (the sound of me passing out on something soft...)

and even better news!!!! The insurance company has ok'd OEM windshield!

My bodyshop guy said the low km and year means they would. If it was an older year/higher mileage they would probably want aftermarket.

Oh well! Waiting until tomorrow to get the estimates and now hopefully get the car for the weekend! :happydance:

He's an honest mechanic. He primarily does body/paint work and is doing some extra 'goodwill' for my car as well. I can't complain at the way he's handled my case and also the thoroughness of his explanation. He is defintely a rare breed!

kenchan 10-06-2014 03:47 PM

 at oem windshield. :D

Finally after procrastinating to replace my over 5yr old battery I went to Sears, and bought a 4 year warranty platinum battery.

The days of this costing about $60 is long gone :(

Changed it while HOT as FUK!! is another story.
