Always nice to be able to drive the Z any day, but it really helps cure a case of the Mondays. :icon14:

As I was doing the qd, I figured I'd wipe down the interior and as I sit in the driver's seat, that damn ignition button was trolling me hard... "c'mon, you know you want to..." ... all lit up. Good thing it doesn't pulsate or I would have caved, but I was caught in it's glow for sure. lol

Love this car.

First mod of the winter, just purchased the back up camera kit for the OEM nav. Finally bit the bullet, tired of backing up blind.

You are in need of those if you want to winter drive. I rarely see less than 40's down here in the Sunshine State.

Happy New Year, Mr. Mt. Tam.

Waiz 01-09-2015 01:05 PM

Very, very busy last few days

Annual oil/filter change
New spark plugs
Front alignment adjustment

Then..

Replaced OEM steering wheel with a newer year OEM steering wheel that I had
Painted the scratched left side cover of the steering wheel in satin black and put it on the new steering wheel
Replaced scratched cruise control cover with a new one I already had

It was my first time removing a steering wheel, and I'm glad I did it. The scratches on the plastics and worn leather on my wheel really bothered me

Will get a pic up later

Someone sparked my interest and had me digging through my old photo album.

First Z, Black 1975 260z. Best friends car, 1980 280zx. This was back in 1986. First Car, 1969 VW Beetle that we painted flames on. The 280zx we painted a fade on it, silver, then light blue, then Dark Blue and Cleared it all in with a Base coat/ Clear coat. I have shared this before, it is my current project. 1975 280zt.

Told my 6 y.o. daughter I'd take her for a spin and a few minutes later she comes over and shows me an internet image search page... she searched for "cars that are z". Is that awesome or what!? :driving:

Drove the hubby to work, filled it up with gas, and cleaned what I could of the exhaust ends.

I will probably have the spoiler put on on Tuesday.

Rain: Good weekend for it

So, my 2010 NISMO is in the garage for clutch "surgery" and I won't get it back until tomorrow. We're talking a complete hydraulics swap out, or so I'm told.

In the meantime I'm driving an Altima which, truth be told, is a pretty comfortable ride and has some pep. But it's not even close to being the fun of a "Z." Nor is the soccer mom van I have to tool around in at work.

Rainy days and maintenance work always remind me why I bought the car in the first place -- once I'm able to get behind the wheel again.

JARblue 01-13-2015 08:30 AM

Drove the Z more than 2 miles for the first time in over two weeks :driving: :D

Zerocool 01-13-2015 11:54 AM

Heroic. Truly.

Haboob 01-13-2015 01:49 PM

I haven't washed her in like a month and a half. :ugh:

Was going to over the weekend, but rain. And rain expected again all week... so, maybe I'll get a chance to drive her in the rain and wash her down a bit that way. /shrug

Krimzon7 01-13-2015 03:44 PM

Just picked up my shine auto rear spats from paint shop, cant wait to install

I was debating to pull out the fuse since yesterday I turned on my car and the ABS, traction, VDC light came on. It appeared to be a glitch since it didn't come back on the next two times I turned on the car. I ended up calling my local Nissan instead and gave them the vin.

sidenote: I also haven't washed my car in about a month due to the crappy weather. It just doesn't make sense to wash her and then it's going to rain the next week etc...

Sidenote2: Some A-hole wasn't paying attention in the parking lot and scraped my car right by the rear wheel well, driver side. I'm hoping it will buff out, I was really pissed when I noticed it this morning.

TaroBaapG35 01-15-2015 08:07 AM

Just recieved PWJDM Ver. II and ordered Fluids/Filter for 1st Oil Change since I got the car.

3000 miles in 2.5 months..:ugh2:
