oil change battery

Nice experience at " Fort Lauderdale Nissan" I went in for a full syn pensoil change and requested to have the serpentine belt changed. The oil change is free for me under my plan,so I figure the belt wont be a big deal.He comes out to tell me the belt is all good not to bother replacing it ($188.00). However the battery was tested and showing only 334cca ,way short of the 550 recommended(car did crank slow sometimes) So I had them throw a new 84 month maintenance free battery in it. The Battery was actualy cheaper than replacing the belt!
So my point is they kind of had me for the belt if they wanted to get me on that, but said it was good. The battery came out to $133.00 installed which I was pleased thinking it was going to be much more.
So I left there with a new synthetic oil change and a battery for just $133.00. If anyone lives close to Lauderdale /Florida, I recommend that service dept.

Also you can fully watch them work on the car from the waiting room,(glass enclosed) I saw them use a fender cover which I always request.

DeliriousClam 08-04-2016 09:21 PM

So with just an EcuTek tune, my car feels like a completely different animal. Plus launch control and no lift shift are fun as hell.

Finally got an alignment after running over a chunk of concrete the other week. Everything is back in order, but my steering rack appears to be leaking :ugh2:

I don't think the two are related, but warranty should cover the steering rack anyway.

Can you recommend the place you went to for the alignment? I need to get mine done and have yet to find a place that will do it, except the dealership, which i imagine will only align to factory specs

I'm on year 4 of a 5 year agreement with NTB for unlimited alignments. I request a specific tech each time I bring it in, which is usually every 6 months or so.

Firestone offers a lifetime alignment agreement, which I probably would have done in hindsight.

It's not the store I worry about but the technician actually touching the car. It can be hit or miss at just about any shop. I chatted up the tech that did my alignment the first couple of times, and I was pleased enough with his attitude and knowledge that I request him every time now. I'm lucky he's still working there.

imjello 08-05-2016 11:42 AM

i like the firestone in my area, they have installed Bridgestones for me ( same company ), however they stated my car was too low for their machine.

I can check the NTB near me.

Mine too. I first saw it in the theater when I was in college and barely was able to keep from literally rolling in the aisle when Oddball's tanks were blaring "All for the Love of Sunshine" and "I've Been Working on the Railroad." My date thought I had absolutely lost my mind.

And their Sherman tanks are modified to run just as fast in reverse as they do forward. That way, they can get out of trouble just as fast as they get into it. LOL

Man I was a kid when I saw that movie. Have to track down a copy to watch one of these days :)

Just put $34.50 worth of fuel in my Z this morning and had a doctor friend of mine talk about how nice and classy my car is. :tiphat::driving:

barncobob 08-06-2016 01:46 PM

put another coat of pinnacle souveran nuba wax on my MB,,,sweet,,takes so little, easy on easy off..

Kzonts 08-06-2016 03:29 PM

Applied some clear helicopter tape on the underside of my front spoiler. I had an incident last week coming out of a gas station and slightly scraped the underside. It was just enough of an incline to touch the road. I was already committed and couldn't reverse due to other cars behind me. I could kick myself :-(

I touched it up with some Doctor color chip paint then applied the tape. This might help reduce the damage if a next time happens.

mishuko 08-06-2016 05:40 PM

Kzonts was it the front under chin aero thingie? Or the actual front fascia?

Sucks tho I have some places I go to and constantly scrape that front. As long as it's not paint I am usually okay.

Problem I have is my driveway incline and a hill on the road causes scraping issues depending on who is parked on the street. Oh and the storm drain I also have to maneuver around to not get a fast dip lol

Such is life.

Or you know you could part out and get a new varis/nismo/amuse front kit :p

Kzonts 08-06-2016 07:02 PM

It's on the underside where the RED dot is on the pic. You can't see it unless you look under. So I applied some tape all along the underside. Maybe it will reduce the damage if and when I become stupid again. :icon17:

I just got this installed a few months ago and it wasn't cheap. And my car is not lowered, otherwise it would have been much worse.

Love these tips. I chuckle when I see them though. I was in a car corral at a Grand Am race a few years ago where someone had tips like this on a GTR. A couple of the guys thought they were messed up because they were "burnt". I had to explain that they were supposed to look like that. :inoutroflpuke:
