Morning all. First day back to work. Ugh. Dragging ***. Happy that my wife and I have jobs to go to though.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Looking good! Thanks for posting, I always wanted to see the Nismo spoiler on a non-nismo car.

I had a dream I sold the Z because I was poor. That reminds me, I get paid today 0_o. Time to go see the Z in storage.

My tag is also a bit crooked. Must have been a build screw up. Drives me crazy. :tiphat:

Mine was too, at first. Then I figured out that the dealer did a crap job of installation. You just have to adjust the metal pieces that go over the bolt holes and make sure they are aligned, they're built poorly and slide out of place easily

Thanks for the info. I will give that a try. Not sure whether or not mine has metal pieces or a nylon plug. :tiphat:

Did an oil change, spilled oil on buddy's driveway because as anyone with a ZSpeed tray will know, you have to pay attention and move the drain pan around the sides once the initial amount of oil drains off...instead of standing around and talking

And tried a Greddy QX-4 filter for the first time, seems like a top notch quality oil filter if anyone wanted to know

kenchan 01-02-2016 08:44 AM

that sucks. i'd have to remove that whole thing to wipe off any oil that got on there.. which defeats the purpose entirely for that access hole.

id still get one though if something happened to my factory cover. :D but my factory cover is scratch free still after 6yrs..

Yeah, I can understand where you're coming from. IMO, the Zspeed tray needs a slightly bigger access door but, even how it is -- still way better than removing the whole tray each time.

And yeah a bunch of oil gets on it when draining but a quick wipe does just fine, not like that's a part people ever look at. My tray looks fine on the bottom, but I'm sure the top part is all covered in oil, regardless not really a bad thing.

Happened to me on the first try and said never again. I use a quart bottle cut at an angle to funnel it off. I use a wire to hold it in place.

The one good thing about removing the under tray is that you can inspect for leaks that would go unnoticed otherwise. I have to remove it every time because the oil filter has been relocated....boost!!!

Picked up the Z from surgery. All went well. Hand cut vents in stock fenders.
