I'll definitely make note of your tips. Anything to make things go smoothly. Thanks! |

The best tip I have is to set up something next to the driver side that is just about door sill height (I use an old wooden file cabinet turned on its side - it is pretty sturdy). Add blankets and pillows to provide cushioning for you and to protect the car's paint. This will make it much more tolerable working on your back down in the footwell. If you start to feel cramped or are just uncomfortable, spend your time down there in short 5-10 min sessions. I found that the better the cushioning, the easier it is to spend longer periods down there. |

More great tips. Thanks! So no need to put the car up on ramps I guess. Sounds like that would make things more difficult. |
Today I also tried to tighten up my steering wheel tensioner per this thread: http://www.the370z.com/engine-drivet...ring-rack.html The nut was covered in much more gunk than the OP's pic in that thread and quite loose. After about 3/4 turn it tightened up a bit. I gave it at least another 1/2 turn and a test drive, but I'm still not happy with the steering play. I have an appointment scheduled with the dealer tomorrow to look at it as well as the flashing airbag light on my dash.

Map lenses. Phone won't upload but most posters likely did this long ago.
They shouldn't be GT-R lenses but more of "WTF Nissan stop holding out". |

imo his inside is tack cause ain't gold! jk. I like the work he has been doing. Quote:
Madwi has a good point too! lol I found it wasn't so much the side that hurt me it was the damn seat thigh supporting thingie jabbing my back that caused the most discomfort. |
I would also suggest wearing long sleves. I got rug burn on my elbow pretty good. I also used a strap on light on my head.

That and RJM must have a lot of sharp edges cause I sliced the heck out of my right hand lol Reminds me I need to adjust it again today. Still trying to nail down exactly where I want it. |
I left mine with the default setting but raised the pedal to the max. My wife and I both drive the car and I'm a good 10 inches taller. She drives with the seat all the way forward :-)
|
I put my afp to 50. Initially set the pedal height to the lowest setting and let's say I was in awkward position. Put it to max and it's about aligned with the brake pedal and it's perfect!
My feminine fingers were sore from prying out th3 stoppers lol |

My AFP currently at 90 but going to try that closer to 50/60 as well. I used needle nose pliers for the stoppers ;) |
So sitting in traffic last night for about 30 min, going from 0-15mph. Got on the highway and Z would not move any faster. Tried switching gears and still nothing. Then I remembered limp mode. Pulled over, turned her off for one minute and then back on. Everything was ok afterwards. I was scared. Temp only went up to 220.

I did have needle nose pliers but the thing was a hard rubber and being a PITA. I literally had to put it down a few times. I found getting the pedal cover on without any warm soapy water easier than getting those fk'ers out! Quote:
