I washed and waxed my unusually dirty z. also removed the front Connecticut state required license plate and bracket. looks much better!

Z_ealot 10-22-2015 11:30 AM

Went at the tire smudge in my front bumper with some polish yesterday, got all of the rubber off but now have 7 nice little paint chips from the idiot that hit my car while i was gone at work

Wheels3309 10-22-2015 11:55 AM

I want this! :yum: Where'd you grab it from?

caalmaden 10-22-2015 12:29 PM

I chanced upon it on eBay. I saw several of them still available. I get most of my stuff on Yahoo Auctions Japan. I use proxy bidding when applicable.

Nice. Looking forward to pics!

Spent all last week in DC. Arrived home to several days of rain. Rear tires are essentially slicks right now, so it's probably time to change them :driving:

It rained so I didn't even move the car outta the driveway today. I'll have to re-wash and hope for a picture day later this week.

Well, so much for the hood. I couldn't get to the latch from under the car due to the turbo and downpipe in the way. Good thing I have a new Nissan one in the box. Cable is broke, now the search for a new one.

Tried my hand at clearing up some light yellowing of the headlights on the Z with some 3m headlight renewal compound, worked wonders on the headlights and now they are as good as new

Silly Rabbit 10-25-2015 05:42 PM

Dropped the Z off to get new fenders installed. Now with the garage space empty, I find evidence that the rear differential bushing it toast. Wonder if I can manage to get extended warranty to cover whiteline bushings.

They also sell a UV protective coating for after cleaning which is good to use on new lens to protect them also.

I could have gotten to it without cutting the hood, but would of had to take my downpipe and exhaust off some how. I couldn't reach it from underneath. The hood on the car today has collected One Great Dane, and One Deer (thought that one was going to be in the front seat with me). So it was junk anyway. I have a new one I bought back in 2010. So I just said F it. Now the challenge is finding a new hood release cable.

My friend brought me back some souvenirs from his trip to Japan. Don't know where he got them but I probably won't be installing the Arc radiator cap because i believe its not the right pressure or something...

Z is in storage until April. Probably feeling out of place in a sea of Moostangs and Vettes. Oh, and a Hellcat.

Steel wool and Dcon for mice. The storage place also has a monthly pest inspector come in. The guy has a few million in cars and the owners had less protection than me. So I'm not to worried.

oh! i thought you were storing it at home... good stuff!

Pulled all the lining out of the trunk and stuck 15 square feet of ac vent wrap (aka cheap sound deadener) all over the flat metal panels. I had to dig down there anyway because my, not yet installed, rear view camera was sliding back and forth down there on corners (I have the homelink back up camera but the new one is 170 degrees to help with looking side to side.
I also installed hella horns but was stumped by just having one stock horn; now I see the second is in the left front wheel well so I get to do that all over again....

Unrelated but it entertains me...

Went for a spin last night with the SRM off and practice the heel toe-ing. Got a lot better... found it's easier to over-rev and slip into gear than under rev and stutter and cringe for my poor clutch/tranny.

just wondering... i found that as i started driving it was a lot easier to downshifting to 2nd without being locked out compared to when the SRM was on and cold tranny. I've also tried the double-clutching with SRM on/off and it's the same.

also found that the revs dropped more quickly... (possibly because of the slight blip it does when you're shifting? maybe?)

anyone have any insight?
