Saw a MB Nismo and a PW Sport that I haven't seen before in Ocala today... maybe enough for a meet up? hmmm

Drove to the city for cars and coffee (2 hours thanks to construction).
Stayed 1 hour. Obtained cool photos of Ford GT500 amongst others.
Spoke to wiggins about his Z and how low it is.
Drove home (1.5 hours-lesson learned about route to city).
Met hubby on his way to dyno for his Harley.
Obtained more cool photos of a 1200 Sportser on a mobile dyno parked in between a bean and a corn field :p
Lunch then a meandering drive home following hubby and mini on the bike.
Clean bugs off Harry.
Wow.
Lotsa Z driving today :happydance: :driving:

Had a nice drive yesterday through the Daniel Boone National Forest around Laurel Lake. Part of the drive included a stint on a gravel road that was a little longer than I anticipated, so the resulting layer of gravel dust had to be dealt with this evening.
But I did get a nice picture in front of the Laurel Lake Dam (and evidence of an unforgivable parking job. In my defense, I was just there long enough to snap the picture).

Alright, I have to be a pest, what did the transmission fluid look like coming out? My differential fluid was like everyone else's filthy, but I'm curious about everyone's transmission fluid.
I've always heard that no one has ever had dirty tranny fluid. Mind you the viscosity and detergents/synchro lubes could have deteriorated, but it's not dirty. I'd expect engine oil to be dirty, it's cleaning and lubricating the engine, removing combustion by-products, but the diff fluid being so dirty really surprised me. Just curious about your transmission fluid condition after 30K.

A homeless panhandler told me he loved me when I got to a red light. He also walked towards the rear of the car and was crouched down near my rear bumper when the light turned green. :ugh:

Darkened, but clean. Pour some out and it is a light golden color that can be seen through. I can only assume they recommend swapping it out because of all the heat cycles it goes through. Makes me wonder if the service interval can be increased to 45 or 60k when using a high quality oil. Of course, the Redline was only $70 shipped from Z1 so that's not a ton of money to spend every 30k.

Did you give him any money? If not, who knows what he did to the car.

Nope. I checked it out when I got to a stopping point, didn't see anything.

Had a garage sale to clear out unwanted tools and electronics and make more space in my garage and more importantly, fund my next mod.

Had an hour to work on the car yesterday before work, 10am to 8pm shifts suck. :( Anyway, got some of the suspension back on. Took personal days Monday and Tuesday to hopefully get the front end all back together.

As someone else mentioned, today was wash day, two bucket method and all. And of course, when finishing up and cleaning one side of the hatch window, a friendly bird left me a present on the other side. Oh, and evened out my rear license plate...noticed it was about 1/4" low on the right side from last week's pictures.

Sometimes it's good to be OCD, makes your car look better.

I also washed my Z today and tried a new tire shine. DUB by meguiars, it's shiny as phuck, just have to see how long it lasts.

I hate the fitment. Too bad I fubar'd the OEM clips. If I can find a way to get them back on, I might just swap them back.

it looks fine to me? is the line suppose to be flush with the bottom of the door at the fender or?

i think you can just paint or wrap the wheelwell side black and no one (but you) can tell? :icon17:

Pintsize725 07-14-2014 01:12 PM

It doesn't seem long enough so the wheel well line in the back is crooked. It's also not flush with the interior door area.

No, only the oem uses the tabs as far as I know They broke as we were taking them off. I thought 3m double sided tape would help but i guess i didn't buy the right one.

oh i c...

as for 3M mounting tape, i used 5952 (VHB) for my fujimura diffuser. it's stuck on there for good. :D
i think i might make some traps for my dumbarse neighbors down the street using that tape..

So after reading up in the audio section that the Bose could put out some sound, I decided to increase the volume driving to and from work today. Sure enough, at about 60-70% volume, I can actually tell there is a subwoofer and hear the various speaker separations, etc (with iPod mastered for iTunes recordings). Bonus, didn't appear to be any road noise at that stereo volume!

kenchan 07-14-2014 05:46 PM

should get an aftermarket HU and use the bose amp in the car. will make your listening even more enjoyable as aftermarket has much better eq controls. :D

Brad Edwards 07-14-2014 06:24 PM

I put my left foot/leg through a good workout - 300+ miles of traffic from San Diego to Chatsworth and back - Avg speed, 40.

Got the 370 Tuned at Speciality Z - those guys are awsome
