How fast have you guys had your Z's? I hit 140 the other day and then got nervous.

Leingod 05-14-2015 11:56 AM

129.... ran out of road while dodging pothole. Haven't driven in the past 4 days from the am,ount of storms we've gotten. Freaking sleeted yesterday.

Probably because you were on a public road? :eekdance:

I've hit 140 mph on the front straight at COTA, and she felt amazing. Very planted :driving:

jmayz 05-14-2015 12:07 PM

In my defense NM has many deserted public highways. I was the only car on that road that morning. 50 miles between towns in either direction. But still, I started thinking this is "goto jail" speeding so I backed off. :)

:iagree: VERY PLANTED AND VERY STABLE

I'd love to try and redline 5th.... imagine run out of gearing and/or hit drag or something for 6th...

Let's see a soccer mom take HER Escalade into a tight corner at 90mph! Her coffee will get everywhere!

To be honest, I have driven through NM on my way to CO and found it very difficult to not speed. But this was years ago, and we were in an older 626 that could barely hit 100 mph in the first place. My co-driver got pulled over for going 100 in a 65 zone, and the cop was totally understanding (empty, flat highway with zero traffic) and wrote him up for 10 mph over

jmayz 05-14-2015 12:33 PM

^^

Texas has it figured out! 80mph speed limits everywhere! I heard there's an 85mph speed limit now. We drove through their a couple years ago heading to New Orleans and I just loved it!

yah, definitely need to watch out on the speed in the Z. car feels like it's going 25mph when she's actually doing 55.

totally agree with that... i feel like going under 60kmh is painful in the Z. cruising on the highway going 120 it feels stable, planted, and even like you're going slow. even when passing someone and faster it felt so stable and didn't notice how fast until i glanced down.

i think once you can see the needle it means you're going at Z-speeds. if you can't see the needle you need to drive faster :rofl2:

Nooooo~~!! :eekdance:

now imaging going 55mph in a GT-R... another reason why i chose the Z besides the no-MT option.

jmayz 05-14-2015 12:55 PM

I saw a GTR for the first time in Vegas last week. Good lookin car, but I found it odd that they have back seats.

speaking of GTR, i saw a white 15' nismo. can't miss those red whiskers. looked awfully sexy~

the original design had a few criteria. needed to seat 4 and fit a set of golf clubs in the trunk.

then i saw a r32 in yellow yesterday filling up. :excited: so yum!

After what seemed to be a very long 3 weeks, my front bumper has been resurrected lol

Color match isn't perfect but it's better than before, so I'm okay with that

The price however I did not like :(

SurfDog 05-14-2015 07:24 PM

I just did mine too. Did you replace with OEM facia??

Yes I had them on for the last 3 weeks

It's off now ;)

Your color match looks great!

SurfDog 05-14-2015 07:29 PM

What did you do with your Z today VI (ON TOPIC DISCUSSION ONLY)

Not perfect because I have 3m on hood. Waiting to fully cure before I wrap the bumper.

Fman007 05-16-2015 01:12 PM

Installed a Gen 3 on my 370. I've previously installed one on my G37. This would have been a lot easier if I had know it was a different install. I wish Stillen would have used longer couplers to help bridge the gaps of the pipes.

How's the ride after? Any difference in feel and/or sound after?

Fman007 05-16-2015 03:03 PM

Of course.....there's a better sound and the power comes quicker. I installed the M370 thurs.....rest is stock flow mods. The car is lose and ready to go. Absolutely love it! Can't wait for my FI Catback to arrive. 1 week away. That should open things up a bit.

jmayz 05-16-2015 04:06 PM

I think I got 4th gear scratch today!! :driving:

I didn't really feel it but shifting into 4th and the traction light came on so I must have burned em a little. I LOVE MY STICK SHIFT CAR!!!

b15 05-16-2015 07:01 PM

Went out for a short drive after the rain cleared up. Still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it

This is why I keep a ****-kit in my car, Griots garage speed shine and two MF cloths. I had one awhile back when my window was open and it went on my wrist, in between the window crack and down my door. I was pissed and this is when I started bringing stuff with me.

Yup ... I cary a kit.

kenchan 05-18-2015 10:23 AM

guys should carry a polymer based kit if u're going to use it out doors especially under the sun. griot's sprays (less waterless car wash) are wax based, needs to be used in the shade.

scottIN 05-18-2015 11:34 AM
