It sounds like you want something new, so I'd just go ahead and roll with it.

Mustang... No. Everyone has them. They are not classy. That's just me, and each to their own but I'm glad I did not buy one myself.
I did look into them, the bang for the buck is great. I rented a 5.0 automatic on vacation, I really wasn't that blown away by it at all. I'd prefer to stay away from the Mustang and Camaro personally. There are about 10 of each on block I'm sure (exaggeration but you get the point).

Zen, my 2001 Mustang GT vert with 194k miles (191k put on by my Mom) is all original minus the craptastic intake manifold and the new gears I just installed (went from 3.27 to 3.83!). If you do run into issues or need some mechanical assistance, there is a great shop in TR that only works on mustangs. Furthermore there is a great Mustang club in Greenville that is very helpful, one of which works at a ford dealer locally. The sound of a Mustang is awesome (even though it represents an inefficient design) and I love it when I have the opportunity to listen to them at every stop light. I heard one today with an aftermarket exhaust that sounded awesome!
Now while I love my Mustang, I have it b/c I didn't pay to get it, the wife likes it and it's a convertible. I love the Z for its handling characteristics and ability to whip it around but in the end the Mustang may win, all b/c it's a V8 and it just sounds better than any V6. Besides, if I want speed I have my motorcycle for that. You would have more room in the Mustang for the wife and kid but let's be honest, you already took care of that with that other little purchase. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

You prob should IMO. High miles on the Z, too many issues. Though the Mustang isnt exclusive, I see literally, MINIMUM 10 Stangs for every Z, the 5.0 is a HELL of a brute and will be fun. Obviously you have a budget (like all of us), Id say go for an M3, etc but other than a Dodge (blah), SS, the mustang is really the ONLY option for that power/price point.

This is the last brand new car I'll buy. I love it, don't get me wrong, but I could have gotten so much more for my money I think.
Unless I come into a lot of money... then I'll reconsider new. ![]() |
