SCORE

One Sunday night I drove from the DC area back to school in southern VA... 270 mile trip. The last 150 mountainous miles of that trip was in a snow storm. I did about 30 mph down the interstate following the tracks of 18 wheelers, but I had about 30 miles to drive once I got off the highway. It was pitch black and the roads had been untraveled as it was about midnight.

I was sideways, I was all over, but I made it home. Drove through some areas that had 6+ inches of snow and I didn't stop for any stop signs or red lights... I HAD to maintain momentum.

Great drive.

I also love how the Europeans mock the Vette's use of leaf springs as if they were old wagon springs or something.

I was shaking when I got home. It was very intense. The highway wasn't bad but there were a few times when I slipped. The surface roads were absolute madness, though. I saw maybe two or three other cars on the road and they were all 4x4s. I almost wrote it off a couple of times but I made it. My adrenaline was pumping so much that I never slept until well into the next day.

I had a Terminator for 3 years and currently have a 370Z. The Terminator will dessimate the 370Z even if the Z had a good head start.

This wouldnt even be a race. I have raced numerous Cobras in my 04 Viper and stock... they are fast. Not as fast as the Viper... not even close, but I have ran up against a few that were modded (and it didnt cost them much) and they gave me a good run. I havent ran a 370Z in the Viper... and probably never will... but I did beat one pretty bad a few weeks ago in Dallas while driving my Jeep SRT-8. In all fairness it was from a stop... so he didnt have a chance.

I did a 1/4 mile track double-play on a Viper R/T 10 with my Cobra. I beat him by a bumper each time. The only mods I had:

CAI
Flowmaster catback
Superchip custom tune
STOCK blower pulley

I also killed a Charger SRT8 and Vette C5 as well in separate 1/4 mile runs.

You know first hand how dependent the car is on a good driver, though. I've seen stock ones stuck in the 13s because of shitty launches.

The best I have seen was a friend in his stock 10th Anniversary go 12.4 @ 112 on a high 1.9 60'. Of course the car didn't stay stock for long. I remember back then you could get a pulley and tune for $500.

Viper RT/10s are really nothing to brag about. The first generation Viper RT/10 was 400hp, 0-60 4.6 and quarter in 13.1. My Jeep will beat that. Second Gen was 450hp, 0-60 in 4.0 and quarter in 12.2. I have a Gen 3... 510hp, 0-60 in under 4.0 and quarter in 11.7s. Mine wasnt stock though... intake, full Corsa exhaust and a few other little goodies. The other problem with Vipers is you REALLY have to be a good driver to get the performance out of them. No traction control or nanny tech... so you get 85% of your 525lb-ft by 2,000rpm. So lots of wheel hop and the back end will get crazy on you. It took me a long time to learn how to drive it... and I wont even begon to claim I am good at it. The Jeep on the other hand... punch it and it goes. All wheel drive and the gearing makes it a beast off the line. Much faster launch than the Viper... and really anything else I have ran into. Cobras though will eat me up after 40mph and keep on going. great performance for the buck. The only issue I have with them is they are a Mustang... lots of plastic and not much for quality.

I think the 2003 / 04 Terminators turned the corner for the better in regards to the Mustang quality. The car was rock solid (and heavy like a rock as well).

Alot of folks put down the new S197 models as having a cheap plastic interior. Many folks have sadly mistakened the matte silver counsel trim panels of the Premium and Deluxe GT's as being plastic. In reality they were ultra-light aircraft aluminum.

I remember a while back when me and my tuner were playing with some fuel tables on his Subaru Forester. I believe he had a FP Green Turbo (good for 400+WHP) With a PPG set gearbox. Some old fart rolled up next to us in this black cobra with mods. and Jeff pulled so hard on him and kept going. good times....

The Terminator blower runs 8psi boost. The Subaru Forester with the FP Green Turbo runs 20 psi boost. Lets compare apples and oranges why don't you???????

The internals of a Terminator can handle about 16 psi without beefing up the internals....so lets suppose we level the playing field and throw a 16psi blower on the Terminator which will take it up to about 560 RWHP and 600 ft-lbs of TQ. Even with the 600 lb. weight disadvantage the Terminator has it will beat the Forester.

Now lets really make the playing field NEARLY even and put a Twin-Turbo on the Terminator with just 16psi. Now its HP will be about 680 to 700 RWHP which will walk away from the Forester.

And finally making the playing field entirely even a Terminator with a 20psi twin-turbo will put down around 800 RWHP and 825 lb-ft of TQ. The Terminator will be crossing the 1/4 mile mark before the Forester makes it 800 feet down the track.

So if you are going to blow a bunch of out in your post then lets do an apples to apples comparison if you want to call folks "old farts" and make a negative innuendo about the Terminator.
