I'm afraid of mods because a later mod may make this mod outdated

Why not start with suspension mods then? You won't have to go back and upgrade them again in the future. Wheels, tires, springs/coilovers, sway bars, camber kits, brakes (esp. if

As someone who has modded, upgraded mods, removed mods, and encountered "Gurney's law of unintended side-effects (usually negative)", all I can say is do your homework, save and get the good stuff - don't compromise.

Patience truly is a virtue.

Two of the best advise in this thread.

I am staying committed to N/A because I do not want to pour too much and want a true and reliable daily driver.

That'd be like throwing money away. Of course i can always sell the parts here, but I don't want to lose money on the mods. I'd rather buy them and stick with them for good.

With that in mind, has anyone made mods and then had to un-make them in order to do other mods? Has anyone learned the hard way, or made mods and know how to not get painted inot a corner like this?
25 years ago I went to this Italian restaurant in Brooklyn. I heard the food was very good. There was a lot of good stuff on the menu, so what to choose became a problem. Finally I ordered a meatball hero. It was pretty good, but after eating it I noticed that at the next table over, the people were having veal parmesan heroes & were laughing & really enjoying them. All of a sudden I wished I chose the veal instead of the meatball. What now?

I stuck my finger way down my throat & that made me throw up the whole meatball sandwich. Now with an empty stomach I was ready for that veal hero. Never bought that hero because just before buying it I thought that I might be in the mood for Chinese food instead. From that day on I never went out to eat. Just don't want to make that mistake again.

Having a plan is fine if you have researched ALL mods out there and picked the ones you want. I see new mods all the time and my head is spinning!

Yep all you can do is make a plan and then assess it and through it out the window and do it again. I have a bunch of parts I need to sale; 2 exhaust systems, Art Pipes, CAI, Z1 manifold tubes, Nismo springs and a light standard weight pulley and I had a plan.....then the boosted bug bit, stung and trapped me in her web. The car is at SpecialtyZ getting FI TT installed. If I could do it all over again, I would do brakes, suspension and a 25 or 34 row oil coiler first. You can't go wrong with those mods.

It's the nature of the beast.

So far I have only managed to change a couple of things, which didn't cost me a lot out of pocket

to solve your confusion....

shop like a guy, don't shop like a chic...

that means....

think before you mod, find out which area you want to improve on the Z then go towards that area...

also, think big, don't go with micky mouse stuffs...

Another good advice. To your point, this qualifies as shopping like a chic and mickey mouse stuff!!!!!

Suspension mods never go out of style and are relevent no matter what direction you want your build to go.

I've modded my previous car and I am someone who spent plenty of money fixing things here and there.

My best advice is this, have an objective for your purchase and research.

My first modification is to get the car to sound aggressive and actually get a tone out of the exhaust. I noticed AAM short pipes sound great, but it's a muffler delete at the end of the day I want to gain some hp with my purchase as well. With current black Friday deals I was able to get a great price on an Agency Power exhaust, so I looked it up on YouTube and I will proceed with purchase.

As for the intakes, I know that my exhaust being 2.5" will be able to work with a FI kit if I go FI in the future, don't think I'll want to exceed 425whp. So I will be purchasing Z1 tubes as an engine dress up mod and K&N filters, this has been proven to add 8whp or so. Given that the filters will inevitably need to be replaced the filter cost is a wash and the tubes I found for very cheap.

As for the suspension, I will always have a desire to be low, but I drove a very low vehicle previously and I understand the hassle it can be to drive around town especially getting stuck taking right turns when the tire is off the ground. I realized the swift springs are the right purchase for me.

For the brakes, I have the sport package and I feel as though the stock brakes and pads will suffice for now, perhaps upgraded pads in the future.
